Should be...

Midwest

1. UK
2. Kansas

South
1. Duke
2. Gonzaga

East
1. Villanova
2. Virginia

West
1. Wisconsin
2. Arizona

The strongest ones - Duke and Kentucky - get rewarded; and the weakest ones - Wisconsin and Villanova - get some equity from their 2 seeds.

I would think they would be the 2 in the east and Kansas or Iowas St would be our 2 depending on who wins the big 12 championship

yep, just posted the exact same setup in the other thread, S-o-S. Also pointed out how I would love to see Duke, Wisconsin and Zona' all on the opposite side of the bracket in this case ....

I bet you they stay a #1. They will get credit for Anderson being out in the UL loss, and recovering for this loss. All 3 of their losses were to ranked teams, and Wisconsin has a bad loss, even though Kaminsky was out for it. Not saying I agree, but I see it going that way.

I feel like these conference tournament games carry entirely too much weight. They lost a close game to a ranked UNC team.

I don't know. I feel like things get ridiculous around this time of season where one loss and people wanna forget about the 30 or so games before it.

They should stay on the 1 line IMO.

If that's how it comes down, I will be pissed. Not that I am afraid of KU, but the South plays the East I think, so Duke could get to the title game without having to face Arizona, Wisconsin, UK, Kansas and either Virginia or Villanova. That would be the cushiest path ever.

Could be right, SAG, but as a note : if they say and do that for UVA about anderson, shouldn't it also hold the same for when kaminsky was out for the rutgers game? Would be kinda' awkward for them to come out and say that and not apply the same reasoning for Kaminsky. I'd have to say it would be a wash in losing anderson for the games he's been out/less than 100% effective and with kaminsky being out for rutgers win....

I dunno, but I just can't see how the NCAAT SC can keep Wisconsin out of a #1 seed now that UVA lost in the semis of the ACCT. It was one day too early for them to lose in their tournament. If UVA had lost to Duke in the finals, then they could have a stronger case for a #1 seed, but now .... I'm just not sure.

Will be very interesting to see how they treat UVA and wisky come selection sunday.

Their 3 losses are all to ranked teams. Duke has better wins but they have also lost to 2 unranked teams. Their head to head win might be the difference.

I'm not sure it's a given Wiscy gets the final #1 seed over Arizona. I think they should but don't think it's certain if both win out.

You'd like to think that these games make a difference where many of us see where the seeds should be changed. Every year we come back to how did a team keep their seed when they should have dropped?

We'll have Wiscy, Louisville, Wichita St & UNC in our bracket. We're not going to get the easiest bracket.

Duke will play in Syracuse, not Houston. They will be the second 1 seed unless they lose. They will stay closer to home in the East.

Why does everyone think they stay in the South?

Here's my projection.
East
1 nova
2 Virginia
Midwest
1 UK
2 Kansas or Maryland
West
1 Wisconsin
2 gonzaga
South
1 duke
2 Arizona.

I put Arizona with duke because I think the ncaa knows they will travel and Houston isn't that bad of a distance from Arizona. Just my thoughts.

IF UVA has dropped to a 2, the seeding will be kind of funny.

Us in Cleveland. Duke as the 2 in Syracuse. Either Villanova or Wisconsin would be shipped to Houston and the other out West.

That would leave us with UVA. Arizona would stay out west. Probably Gonzaga to Houston and Kansas to Syracuse (though Kansas and Gonzaga could flip).

Our best bet seeding wise would be for Villanova to be a 2 and stay in Syracuse with Duke. Then we would end up with Kansas or Gonzaga.

Oh well, bring em on.

everyone of the talking heads has been looking for a way to make Wisconsin a 1 seed, well, that door just opened. If Wisconsin wins the BIG10 Tournament they are a 1 seed. UVA should end up as Nova's 2. We get Gonzaga or KU IMO.

the committee ranks teams 1-68. they fill the bracket by geography. with one caveat, two teams from same conference cannot be in the top 4 seeds of one region unless it's unavoidable. with the acc and big 12, that rule will have to be broken this year. at a certain point they stop thinking in terms of regional sites and start thinking in terms of 1st and 2nd round sites.

it's fun, you should try it. below is what i came up with, following their rules and ranking teams based on my perception.

1. kentucky - midwest #1
2. duke- east #1
3. villanova - south #1
4. uva - west #1
5. wisconsin - midwest #2
6. arizona - west #2
7. gonzaga - south #2
8. kansas - east #2
9. iowa st. - midwest #3
10.notre dame - south #3 (duke in the east rules them out there, uva in the west rules them out there)
11. oklahoma - west #3
12. maryland - east #3
13. baylor - south #4
14. unc - midwest #4
15. louisville - east #4
16. northern illinois - west #4

we're all wisconsin fans right now. pushes uva to a two in the midwest. eliminates unc and uofl from our bracket. opens the door for northern illinois as our 4!
