I didn't realize JJ missed all of those open looks and layups? Did she miss the free throws at the end too? The team played poorly today - get over it. Jensen may not be the best coach in the world but she is simply not the primary reason the team lost.

Meh. One final four 30+ years ago beside the Clark era.
Zero chance they would have been competitive with any of the 1 seeds. Should have won today but their ceiling was set at elite 8 at best.

She will never be fired by Beth....They play for the same team. Jan is very nice , I do question some decisions tho.
That's what was disappointing to me about this stretch of play.
It was evident "at times" throughout the season, but it was really evident in their final 3 games. And the lack of confidence in the moments as well.
Who taught CC22 how to drive for layups or shoot in the paint 2. They have no one that can do that.
Just the telegraph the bounce pass inside so it can get kicked away.

First non-reactionary thing I have seen you post on here. This team was better than the talking heads thought they would be at the start of the year. They lost their best outside shooter and JJ guided them to a 2 seed in the BIG. Again, it's not on her that kids can't make free throws or cannot hit wide open threes. The whole guard court went ice cold the last three games.
Huh? Didn't look like it today, but Chit chat was one of the leading 3 point shooters in the country coming in to this game. Stremlow was at almost 40%. Kylie looked pretty much like she always has.

They're just negative and you hawk threads for losses so you can thump your chest. Leave the board and go watch Oklahoma and everyone would be much happier.

People lack the memories that Iowa actually had some very solid 3 point shooters on Bluder's teams.
They just lacked the high end talent and parts here and there to put it all together.
When we had some really great guards like Sam Logic and others before her, we had decent posts and players around them, but nothing that could tip the scales from an athletic standpoint.
By most accounts, the AD wanted continuity after Lisa stepped down and was worried about losing one, yeah one, recruit.
And today is what you chose.

We had an amazing season and he cried the ENTIRE time.
She started settling into a position too much, and made it easy for Virginia to adjust how to guard her in the post.
Jan also did nothing to force the coverage away from helping on Ava (or Hannah) down the stretch.
The whole purpose of flashing Hannah to the high post when the ball goes to the wing is an attempt to isolate Ava on the post, and if the double comes, then someone should be wide open for a kickout. But either their timing was terrible, or they just flat out didn't move.
do not disagree probably not competitive this year with the top four, but they should be better than what they showed in the last three games IMO. Saying that I said early in the season that S16 was the ceiling, so......
I agree with this. She did. She isn’t an elite coach though. Lots of things she needs to work on. I am not saying she couldn’t be, she ain’t now.

HS IS soft. Even when she tried to act tough she couldn't do it without giggling like a 5th grader. Doesn't have what it takes to make it in the W.

I don't know yet if Jan can coach or not but what I do know is we have no shooters. Some fault of hers for not recruiting them or getting one in the portal and the other part bad luck with McCabe going down.
I'm not going to overreact yet after a season we mostly only lost to top tier teams. I really do want to see us add about 3 shooters in the portal though.

not seeing people wanting Iowa to fail, quite the opposite actually. I see posts of people being very disappointed in the way the season ended (last three games) and asking questions.
And another legit big. IF Heiden can't stay out of foul trouble, we will be relying on Hayes to back her up. She has a long way to go.
I agree verdict is still out on Jensen, but going into the season with one pure outside shooter (for sure) is concerning.
I called it. And I got completely ridiculed on here for it by fans who couldn’t handle a different opinion. I like Jan, and I love the Hawkeyes. But I’m allowed to have a take, just like anyone else. I didn’t attack anyone for theirs. Not sure why some people think agreement is required just to have a conversation.
