is allowing 191 yds. rushing, and 201 yds. passing per game. They have allowed 15 TD's via the run, and 13 TD's via the pass. They have 7 int. this year so far.
While certainly not terrible defensive stats, they are somewhat pedestrian, and I believe the Cats can move the ball by land and air on Saturday. I would love to see us come out throwing like we did at Mizzou, a couple of weeks ago.

Yards on the ground will happen, UT is now UGA on defensive side of the ball and we still ran pretty good on them. I look for the WR's (Badet, Juice) to be a little pissed off this week and Saturday and catch everything thrown their way.
My hope is UT comes out over-confident and implode with arrogant mistakes, and UK capitalizes off of 4 or 5 UT turnovers. UK controls the close by the tune of 3-1, and wins by 7.

I'm not that worried about our running game. I'm worried that Dobbs will snap out of his funk. Why he hasn't been benched is beyond me.

What I was meaning was that I think we can run on them so I'm not as worried about it. And I was trying to get across that as bad as Dobbs has been this yr you "want" him to play. Lol

Tremendous stat...I don't know if our D can hang with Dobbs and Kamara is supposed to be back. But I really think our OL/Rushing attack can hold the ball for long periods of time and put up 17 pts in Knoxville.

I don't know if I'd pick us to win...but these spread of UT by 2 Tds are surprising to me.

Tennessee's entire team is a bit of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type thing. The first half the offense and defense are both terrible and then they somehow seem to wake up in the second half and both of them do much better. Kentucky needs to take advantage of this and they need to make sure to double team Barnett whether he is lining up on the left or right side and coming around the end. He is a monster and is extremely hard to block. If and when we go to pass we need to make sure that Johnson is protected and does not fumble.

In terms of the Tennessee offense, Jennings often gives them a spark and if he doesn't get going they often struggle. So, keep him under wraps and we should be all right. He has a big catch radius and will burn you if you let him. UT runs a pretty solid read option and UK needs to be disciplined with it. Make sure that the ends aren't crashing down to the ball until the handoff has been made and everyone has to get to the ball quickly. UK often does pretty good against the run this year and this will be a big test.

On another note, I thought UGA lost the UT game when they stopped running the football. For some reason in that game they decided to go away from it and began to throw it despite running all over UT. When UGA abandoned the run (with a lead) bad things began to happen. UK needs to stick to the run and make UT pay for not being able to stop it.

For the love of God please put Benny and Boom out there TOGETHER on the goal line MUST SCORE plays. Make the defense crap their pants.

Lot of Vol fans wonder why he hasn't been benched. Butch is ultra conservative and he feels he gives him the best chance to win...and Dobbs has woken up and pulled some heroics in the past...but he has been horrible at all the wrong times.

If Kentucky comes out and plays like they did Saturday, it will be a close game. If they come out and play like they did against MSU, Kentucky has a great shot of winning by 7-10.

While I hate Tennessee, they aren't as good as most thought they would be. Hopefully we can take advantage of it.

Key is to not turn it over. The few times I've watched Tennessee they weren't very stout against the run. Should be a good game.

I don't think Dobbs can beat you passing the ball, Its when the WR run their routes and he pulls it down and takes off is what gives defenses the most trouble. Apparently he is much bigger and stronger than he looks because he is hard to tackle. UT losing Hurd probably helps them if Kamara is back, he becomes the main guy and is a much better runner and at least as good as a receiver, probably not the blocker Hurd is though. But if he plays you have to contain him because he is one of the top 2-3 backs in the conference, Bama probably wishes they hadn't ran him off.

As I said, Dobbs has had 3 career games vs a UK team that seemed totally disinterested. They've been completely humiliated and embarrassed but more disturbingly have seemed OK with that, little to no fight. And again, Dobbs doesn't have to be great...he'll have more than ample time to find a receiver.

As for UT's running game...if the UK D caves vs them the way they did vs UGA it won't matter who they have running the ball. The UK D had shown modest improvement but took a major step backwards vs UGA. Part of that was UGA but most of it was poor play by UK.

Tennessee hasn't beaten anybody in a blowout against an FBS team all year. That includes Ohio and App State. I think the Cats will win this game because our running game will be able to keep their offense off the field.

Watching the Denver/Oakland game Sunday, Oakland was lining up an extra O-linemen in the backfield as a lead blocker and they were gashing Denver's highly regarded defense. Made me wonder if we could''t do something similar since we have so many talented O-linemen, and are a ground oriented offense.

I hope we come up with something a little more creative this week, as I think UT will be all over the Wildcat formation.

They whacked VaTech pretty good by 21 but that was early on when they were playing with a full deck. So I agree that this game should be closer than the line suggests, especially considering our ability to run he ball against most everyone.

Tennessee was overrated to begin with, I have said for 3 years Hurd wasn't an elite back and still stick to that, doesn't have the agility or feet to be elite. He is a big fast strong guy who can gain yards because he is hard to get to the ground, Kamara is a much more dangerous back. Kamara and Dobbs running the read option won't be a piece of cake to stop.

Defensively they lost their best CB and LB which would hurt anyone, but UT had a big drop off and its made a big difference in their defense. But they can get pressure on the quarterback because that end is elite pass rusher. I see it like the rest of the games in the SEC East, 2 fairly evenly matched teams where the game can go either way with 1 or 2 plays capable of determining the outcome.

Tennessee got both good and bad news this week. They get Kamara and Sutton back against us, but lose Eric Berry, the return man deluxe, for the rest of the season. He had a 100 yd. Kickoff return against us last season.

Va Tech fumbled 3 times in the redzone. Tech moved ball on the Vols all night. Tennessee took advantage of those turnovers, but since that game and the 2nd half of the Florida game they have been bad.
