...in the Eagle this morning they stated in recruiting wrapup that Zach Farrar was OU's 'big get'...and we might have had him if Dez would have not changed his mind????

Well, it won't kill my day, but still...

Unfortunately when you put all your eggs in one basket this can be the result.

It does suck if Fitzpatrick did tell our coaches he was committed and going to sign, then back peddles and goes with UL a couple days before signing day. That move did screw us. I don't hate the kid but I won't exactly root for him either.

I hope he and his dad both contract a case of laryngitis that lasts for months, so we don't have to hear either of their loud mouths for a while.

I'm not trying to bash but ask a legit question. How many scholarships did we leave open for this years recruiting class? In the past I've read a lot about how we were effectively on self probation by not filling our recruiting classes full. Did we do that again this past season? If so, what's the spin on that? I do understand that we can give walkon's some scholly's (a practice that I think is great btw).

There can be advantages but in general is worth noting that recruiting is no easy matter as evidenced by this thread example. Schools tell recruits not to look at others and the recruits likely feel the same way (at least if that player is exactly like them)...

The OU fans at church were going on and on about this kid Wednesday night. I didn't know he had an interest in Nebraska. I wonder where they got that information.

I saw a super-hot, 20-something blond at the store the other day. If I weren't fat, middle-aged and married, she could have been mine.

Can't let woulda, coulda, shoulda make you angry, it's a lose-lose.
sorry I had to close on that deal, abc, always be closeing.

Pretty sure we are currently at 88 and we need to trim by fall. Definitely signed our limit.

No.

Unless, of course, there are players listed on here that the coaches know will not be here come fall.

Might be some walk ons that aren't getting their scholarship renewed OR there may be some guys with a year of elgibility left (5th year seniors) that are told they're done.
