The"pursuit of happiness" I believe refers to the right to own property. You probably think it means something else.

Who is "she"? Sadly, people mix up quotes from the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence all too often, just as they make up stuff Washington or Jefferson or Adams supposedly said or wrote but didn't, in order to advance an agenda.

But I would consider the Declaration of Independence to be a part of a set of documents that explain and define our rights.

That is a great suggestion for him to have an appreciation for congressional actions of the times,but it would be equally enlightening to compare and contrast entitlement and endowl. People seem to be misled when they fail and use the words interchangeably .
