Looking forward to the game Monday night. Wake is a young, talented team. The big issue for the Cats is that they are big: 3 guys 6'10" or taller, including their leading scorer. The can shoot the three and like to push the ball. Manning isn't know for his defense, he seems to like to outscore the opposition. I watch quite a few of their games from LJVM Coliseum and think they will be a great test for NU. We might see the zone for the first time this season although Wake shoot it well enough to break NU down from 3.

Thank you. Looking forward to the game. Bringing 3 friends to their first NU b-ball game. Hope the Cats are ready. It seemed that we had Mac shoot until he made a basket to hopefully break his slump.

This is the kind of game we need to win to make the postseason. Home against a tough but not overpowering opponent.

Thanks for the preview. Just from the early season Ken Pom numbers, looks like they play fast (68/351 on adjusted tempo, which is faster than anyone in the B1G except for Iowa), and like you said are better on offense (#17) than defense (#168). Should be an interesting contrast relative to the Cats #316 tempo... I'm interested to see if CC tries to run with them or control the pace.

For reference Cats are currently 39 on offense and 66 on defense. We are 50 overall, Wake is 62 though they've been trending up since their preseason ranking (I think was in the 80s?) as they build more data.

The Wake Forest game is a must win for us to get to the post season: beating a good team, ranked just behind us, at home.

They start 2 6'10" dorks however, NU only has 1 Sanjay unless he has been cloned.........

Pardon is only 6-9 but has a 7-foot wingspan which ought to help overcome the other 6-10 dorks they put out there.

This should be a nice barometer for tall players in the Big Ten just around the corner. Has anyone taken a look at Purdue's size? They have two monster centers. They shoot OK from ten feet out too. Just to note, it seems like Villanova has a relative similar size as NU. And they handled Purdue fairly easily. Remember how Dennis Rodman used to take care of Shaquille O'Neil and Alanzo Mourning? Hopefully against WF and other taller big ten teams, we can match up fairly well.

Is it 8:00 yet? I need some sports after taking a bad beat with Denver last night. :)
The problem is I stayed up waaay too late on the East Coast to watch that Denver game and now I don't know if I can do that two nights in a row. Damn.... i wish I had remembered the Cats play late tonight.

DVR it and watch it tomorrow.

I have a really good feeling about NU tonight. Good defense beats good offense.

Yeah, but the two capable bigs thing (plus reinforcements off the bench) is troublesome to me.
