I don’t hear much, if any, info from these two fan bases on here...

Walkertown seems to be pretty decent, benefitting from a light early schedule. They might make a round or two in the playoffs...

But what I’m really curious about is what the thoughts are about North Forsyth’s transition to 2A. I think there was hope that they’d have a little more success this year, being one of the biggest 2A teams in the state.

This will be a good move for the athletic program at NF as a whole I think... but will it pay off any time soon for football? Will it pay off before the next realignment, which could either put them back at 3A in a 4 class system or most certainly at 3A in a proposed 5 class system?

Regardless of the size of the school they're having to undergo a culture change at NF.

When they built Reagan it decimated NF. They were already struggling in football and that took a huge chunk of "kids" would normally get.

It'll take a couple years if the new coaching staff is game for it. They can def compete in 2A.

Neither team's that great they just happen to have athletes and an open enrollment system while the majority of the other teams in the WPAC don't. They have a natural advantage due to that but both programs have been so crap ran in the past they aren't in good shape now. It will probabably take until the next realignment honestly to get them to their potential, Walkertown has more than NF does. Neither are in Carver's situation of fighting for their lives to stay open, but both have a ways to go to get to where they could be. If Carver ever dies out then both will get more kids.

In terms of this year head to head in my opinion Walkertown's miles better. Their schedule's one of the easiest around but they have fast cats galore and they work well in that offense. I'll actually credit McKoy here.. never liked how he managed HP Andrews but he's miles better in terms of being an actual HC now. He did a good job keeping their kids in line on the sideline, they were never out of hand like they were in 2013/14 at Andrews when we played them. JV wise they got a solid little group, they run the Wing deadly with the trick plays. NF meanwhile's a mess, their defense is stout but their offense is (to be nicer with the word choice,) anemic as all get out.

In terms of head to head it's gonna come down to if NF's D can stop the razzle dazle of the Wing enough to ball control and maybe make some stuff happen. I honestly just can't see NF's offense staying consistent they had a hard time last week and they struggled on film vs Carver minus those big plays they scored on. If they had any sense they'd move their best JV skill kids up and put them on offense. Those kids can run and catch well, their goal was the JV title but they already lost once so that's history barring some flukes. I think WT wins by at least 2 TD's or more unless NF suddenly figures out their offense.
