It's just dragging along!

Now they are trying to keep everyone watching by alluding that Carl was bit. In the comic book Rick's girlfriend Andrea gets bit and dies. I'm assuming this is their twist since they deviated from that storyline?

And no sign of the whisperers?!

Just get on with it already!

Agree. That episode was boring. I watched part of the Talking Dead, and Carl was definitely bitten. The next episode will be his last.

The only good things that happened, IMO.

-Enid killed the leader of Oceanside. That should lead to an interesting storyline.

-Alexandria was destroyed. That should lead to these characters getting back out on the road again instead of being settled in one place, although I don't know what you do with Judith/Maggie's baby, so maybe they will find a place to stay. Boooooo.

The days of being out on the road are over.

I dont know if my tv is going out or what, but I couldn't see ****. The whole thing was shot in the dark so I couldn't make out anything. This show is in bad need of moving on from Negan. And some new better looking women wouldn't hurt.

Carl has to die since he is a student at Allbarn. When did he get bit?

Think of the strange he is plowing at Allbarn.

Everybody dies in the zombie apocalypse.

This stupid show just gives lame and irresponsible training advice to drag this **** out. Make dirty, rotten, anal, and passionate love to all the female zombies you can before you get hungry for brains. You'll thank you in your end.

Sounds like Carl's real life dad was pissed about it. Said he was promised a role on the show the next 3 years and that his son is devastated over being lied to.

Welcome to Hollywood kid.

Interesting. I figured the kid was ready to move on and maybe go to college. I guess the producers realized that ratings are falling and felt they needed to make a splash.

Also they let him know 2 weeks before his 18th birthday. Chandler sis not want to leave the show. They lied to him and are trying to be cute but in reality they are just making a mess of an excellent comic series. I was really looking forward to Carl leaving Alexandria and making his own way at Hill Top. They hitched their wagon to Rick and are going to ride that into cancellation.

Mid season premiere. Anyone watch?

I watched. Thought it was pretty strong. Better than the first 8 episodes of the season. I am cautiously optimistic that they will be headed in a positive direction over the next 7.

I DVRd last fall and ended up deleting all of them, without watching one. I think I’ve weaned myself off of it.

I thought it was mostly awful. I did like Morgan going off, but they even screwed that up by dragging it out. The only reason I still watch anymore is that I've come this far and my wife still wants to watch.

I agree that Carl’s death dragged. But, I thought the writing was better than recent episodes. At this point, any non-Negan episode is a win. He wears me slick.

Carl's death did drag, but by breaking up the weeping monologue with Carol and Morgan running around skewering Saviors helped the episode. Previously we would have had 15 minutes of them moaning and groaning and Rick drooling out a Coorrrall at least once.

A fitting end to the season. They telegraphed the bullet backfire from a mile away but, oh well. Tied up a lot of storylines.

I would expect a time jump to begin next season.

I agree it was a complete turn in character, however, I think it's believable in that it was her husband and father of her unborn child that was gruesomly bashed over the head repeatedly with Lucille. Her true rage was never displayed until Rick spared Negan. She had always assumed that whoever had the chance to kill Negan they would have followed through with it.

I was kind of pleased until the end. Makes no sense. Complete turn in character for all of them.

The worst bit of writing was having Maggie tell Jesus about her thoughts on Rick, and Jesus agreeing with her. They spent an entire season developing Jesus as the moral voice of the group, arguing for fair treatment and forgiveness for everyone. They hammered that home in last night's episode. It would have made more sense if Maggie was talking to Rosita, or if we didn't see who she was talking to then panned around to Darryl.

Rick slitting Negan's throat and then suddenly getting wistfully guilt-ridden thinking about Carl's note was one of the all-time dumbest scripting moments in the history of televised drama. His explanation that followed only deepened the stupidity.

Yeah, I'm done now. I'm just going to think that Negan is dead or taken care of and that they start the process of rebuilding a new world now.

Done and Done.

Take out the Maggie scene and it really did seem like a series finale with Rick's big speech and the tying up of all the loose ends.

I agree with the assessment that I'm not buying that Rick, Maggie, Darryl, Michonne, etc could go through hell and high water for each other and then would just turn on each other, rather than being "adult" and at least sitting down and discussing things before acting with malice. Also, Jesus the near pacifist is just going to give up all of this principles? He didn't even know Glen and I don't think he's so much under the control of Maggie that he's just going to take what they call in the Rasslin' biz a "heel turn?"
