I thought i read where Warren was likely to recommit. This is from UL's Scout board. What gives??

The 5'11 200lb running back out of Toledo, Ohio was just recently quoted saying Louisville is his "dream school". Warren is a 4 star running back and rated the #14 running back on 247, #32 on Scout, 44 on ESPN, and 40 on Rivals. He was once a UK commit and is participating in Louisville's "light up the Ville" camp. Might be one to watch for, and very highly rated kid who really loves the program.

Russ Yeast a 5'10 180 lb, 4 star athlete is taking another visit to Louisville soon. Could be another recruit to commit soon. Yeast is a 4 star on scout is the #29 ATH, #51 ATH on Rivals, #43 corner on 247, and #30 4 star ATH on ESPN. As most of you know, he's a former UK commit as well.

Two four star recruits that are pretty high on the program. And I think many of you are like me and would get a lot of satisfaction from landing two 4 star players who decommitted from UK.

Hope they end up returning...Craig wanted to go to Otis when in HS so maybe he still has an affinity for them

They won't be returning. Warren is a dime a doZen type RB, who thought he'd have a ton more opportunities after decommitting, he doesn't. He has family in Louisville and said his dad went to UL for a short period.

Yeast - I think Ali took his spot. Staff is tired of him and his dad IMO. UK offered the kid before anyone, fans loved it and it wasn't enough love shown in their eyes. Next.

Hudson is a big loss though.

Well, I sure have a hard time understanding why they would prefer UL over UK, I don't think either one has a criminal record yet.

Hate to see it. Just hope if they go to UofL the ones who wanted to be at UK kick their asses on the field.

UL seems to think they lead for Hudson as well since he and Warren are likely to sign together. That would suck if true.

Bobby's offense would probably be good for Warren and UL has had a difficult time under Pertino recruiting and keeping good backs. Might be because BP is recruiting running QBs who are getting most of the rushing yards. I like UK's RBs. I think Gran is going to make a couple of stars this year.

I went on another one of my rants on TOS on this subject, I always enjoy a good rant, don't you? Anyway I think it is appropriate to repeat it on here, I don't understand why no one else seems to be interested in the subject, I don't think it will do any good to stick your head in the sand and pretend recruits don't know all about it.

My post:

I understand that the first thing the UL coaches did was offer them TWENTY crisp 100 dollar bills. Not only that, they promised them that much every year they are there..

And that isn't the surprising thing, the surprising thing is that it was legal-------and doesn't count any $100 handshakes like the ones hurtt financed with his $5,000 "loan" from his jailbird friend at the U, (he won the NROTY at the U, understandable, but also at Transfer U, how in hell did he do it a thousand miles from the beaches and all that talent------the same way, is my guess), that had $930,000,000 of other peoples money to get rid of before he went to jail.

Once again UK is being penny wise and pound foolish with athletics money cow, and yet no one wants to talk about it. Bama had the same inequity with Auburns COA when it first came out, but it only took them a blink an eye to catch up with Auburn.

Maybe some of you think it isn't a big deal, if so you must be as stupid as mitch was with his spending on football for over a decade, (which cost UK multimillions, still is actually) every other coach in the nation is just as sure to point this out to recruits as the SEC coaches were to show the disgraceful picture of the UK "recruiting room" for over a decade.

That is what UL (and Cincy, and TU in Knoxville, and many others) is giving out each year to athletes with the COA joke ABOVE and beyond what UK is giving out.

I'm still much sad about Hudson myself. And that one big DL last season who went to NCSU after decommitting I believe. I thought that kid had monster written all over him his name escapes me for some reason. I losing the guy last year and Hudson were huge blows to the program considering how essential having an elite DE in the SEC is. And just an all around elite DL to be honest. In the SEC. Games are won and lost at the LOS. And we need to be able to hold onto kids like hudson.

Piss on Yeast. I don't care that he didn't come here. I care that as a legacy, he committed, de committed and is now talking about going to our rival. He can piss off. I wouldn't want him even if he wanted to come back. For the record, I almost always side with the kid in these situations but this kid is a punk.

Jauk.....I agree with your point about how the COA at UK is a joke (as compared to other SEC schools and UL) but your anger about it is misplaced. UK Athletics have no control over the COA that UK submits. This is all on the academics side of the University thought the financial aid office...the same side of the University that would not allow the athletic department to take out a loan to put in the new jumbo trons at Commonwealth, or the same side of the University that said "sure you want to renovate a 40 year old stadium....we will let you have $120 million for that as long as you also fork over $75 million dollars for our new science building (again no other SEC school or UL has to do this to get financing to upgrade athletic even though athletics could pay for these upgrades 10 times over).

Now you never hear of the COA affection the basketball side of things? Do you? But I can tell you this if it did the COA would have been fixed as fast as Alabama fixed theirs.

I like your post, and I know the COA is a very complicated affair. I blame the NCAA a lot for allowing it to degenerate into what it has become, but with 85 players at $2,000 apiece a year we are going to miss out on some players that might be worth hundreds of thousands in income. How much would we have lost if Cobb had gone somewhere else? And yeah yeah, we have to pay the other scholarships this also, but why should they get less than a city college, and I think Cincy is even worse, it will hurt a lot of other sports also, even if it is small change to most of our basketball players.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and it bothers me that I seem to be the only one on the FOOTBALL board that ever even mentions the tremendous advantage other schools are gaining in recruiting. Ignoring it is not going to make it go away, and while this crew is doing a great job recruiting this may just be the difference in having Hudson (and who knows who else) playing against us for four years instead of playing for us.

COA should be the same amount for all schools with maybe a 25 percent increase for institutions in extremely expensive cities like LA, SF and NYC.

I agree 100%.

You don't have to be a genius to know that Transfer U, Thug U, and Auburn would immediately be top ten, and then of course Bama doubled theirs in about a day to match Auburn. A little surprising to see both Mississippi schools in the top ten, I thought that was a poor state with a rural population, LOL. The big surprise to me though is the Bearcats, another city school. So we have the three established football programs near us all in the top ten, I worry about the influx of Louisville people moving to Lexington to take advantage of the low cost of living (it is a factor) and commuting to work, LOL.

Anyone who has that ***** U as their dream school can't lack much upstairs. If that's your dream, son, please, go. Yeast? Dont know much about him, watched his dad play, thought he was a 3 star but of course the Vil has him as a 4. Honestly, be 2 to 3 years before either of these guys see the field wherever they go. No loss. As for Hudson? best of luck to him. Stoops should have, maybe he does, should have a rule that if you commit, then de-commit, see ya, we move on.

you would be saying "see ya" to some very very important players on this years team by your rule!

I'm looking at these numbers here and trying to apply Okham's razor..

Either Knoxville costs twice as much to live in as the bay area or Boston, or colleges are willing to fudge the numbers in an incredibly transparent way that the NCAA apparently accepts.

Gonna have to think on that one for a while.
