Plenty of freshman. But dean'a head is shaking.

Meanwhile, not sure about the second half, but Griffith had zero first half carries. Good choice helicopter

Dean said he was very impressed with the OLine and how the QB peformed (Trudeau?) Said they kept Thomas as more of a skatback/receiver. Said Kennedy looked great. As for the D - said DL is solid and his only concern is how the LBs perform. Overall I think he said 7-2 worse case.

Thats pretty much where they had Thomas last year....lot of his touches were on reverses and screen/slant passes. I don't think you'll see him in the actual RB position unless Kennedy goes down...I think Thomas damn near lead the team in TD's last year from that spot so we he should be OK....Dean who was the other RB with Kennedy? I saw some pictures on line, was it Moriarty?

I left Saturday with a substantially better feeling then last year. O line is much bigger and faster. Brown at 300, Myrick and Cooper at 295. Seems like Trudeau will be the starter. Thomas didn’t take a snap. They kind of use Thomas like Hester. However he will be on the field more in different spots. Someone you definitely have to account for. Kennedy in the backfield along with Moriarty who looked 100% to me. Obviously he had that terrible injury before. Watch out for soph Kyle Davis. Shades of Greg Owens out there. He is a truck.

They rotated 3 guys at TE . Milavickas, soph Jaleel Billingsley mainly and Rashad Wilikins a little . They tried Cousert and McClurge both ways a little. Cousert caught a long TD pass in the post.

Defensively looked like great team speed. Obviously hurts to lose Griffith and another projected starter. Dline they moved Jordan Acklin over there from RT and have a 295 lbs soph at NG. Outlar back on D line also and McGhee rotates in along with Obah and Willis. Both lines deeper material. LB’s Swisshelm was on crutches so did not see him in action. They have a soph up- Valenti- and of course Taylor out there. Stll experimenting with guys out there like Kubik, Darrion Rogers. Secondary both safeties back . Corners Filer who was out there on 3rd downs last year and Senior David Rogers 6’2” takes over for Griffith. Looked solid. Soph Eddie McGee takes over the Filer nickel corner spot.

Won’t know much until week 3 vs LA but I am very encouraged on what I saw.

Dean............... This is the first Brown and White I've missed in 12 years. I no longer have any family members playing for the Caravan. I really feel out of the loop. What can you tell me about the QB situation? How did Antonetti and Gill look on the o-line? Who is playing D-B with the loss of 2 of our starters from last year. How many sophs are up, and what positions do they play?

QB is Trudeau a senior. I like what I saw. Can run between the tackles and pitches the ball well. Sort of an elongated throwing motion (he launched one that Kilbane picked off) but all in all I was pleased. Reading between the lines first 2 weeks I think its his job to lose, I think ace up sleeve is Thomas at QB if need be.

I loved what I saw from O line. I kind of figured Antonietti at C with starting there FR/SO year. Gill at RG . Both looked good. I was watching so many things I couldn’t really grade them but the times I watched the Line they were quick off the ball.I think O line is best facet of the team.

Secondary both safeties back of course , Filer moves over to strong corner. Was out there on 3rd downs last year. Looked great and Griffiths spot is 6 ft 2 in senior David Rogers. Other corners were junior Weathers and Soph McGee. Very fast group.

6 sophs up. Barbosa starts at NG is 295. Mcgee DB. Kyle Davis RB u will love him. Mendiola a reserve OL, Billingsley a TE very talented and Valenti at ILB will get out there a lot kind of a traditional MC LB.

Thanks for the info. As we all know, when it comes to the MC offense, O-line is crucial.

Who did the sophs play? Win? Final score?
Taft...won really big, not sure of the final. Don't expect too much from the Soph team though, they have a ton up on varisty.....Freshman team looks very strong...Huge line, great backs, excellent QB

I would imagine Dutton is the QB next 2 years for sure. With transferring in and not having been in the system makes sense to play and start him on sophs, get a ton of experience as opposed to being backup on Varsity and not getting reps.

I will be at the MC frosh game Sat to check them out vs LWE.

I agree with that. Definitely better to get reps with Sophs than sit on a varsity bench.

It will all come down to how Trudeau performs. Obviously they blew out Taft , but a little worried about what happens starting in 2 weeks. I saw the same thing you did with Trudeau, long slow throwing motion. That concerns me. He also didn't seem real fluid when running the option to me, but it's game 1 and I'm always a worry wart.

Considering Dutton didn't even start and split reps with the previous starter from that class, and considering he's been in the system just a few weeks after running a shotgun spread the last couple years, I was surprised how smooth and confident he looked in limited action Saturday.

Interested to hear about the Frosh QB too

I think the luxury MC has with the schedule back loaded is they can figure everything out. Unlike in '14, the schedule was front loaded ,starting with Philly Joes and they really put themselves behind the 8 ball.

MC will just kind of see who earns the job. They wont hesitate to make a change in 2000 they were 7-1 (granted pulled rabbit out of hat vs SR PC) but made a switch to Aaron Marshall at QB and were a completely different team. Blew out PC SR 2nd time around in playoffs.
