Watching less NFL FB lately?

Probably for a combination of reasons (HS & College FB, poor home team, broadcast saturation, marginal athletic performance, etc.), do you find yourself tuning in far less? The NFL product appears in trouble with its viewing base?

I'm not sure why, but I don't follow the NFL at all...probably because I don't play fantasy football. It's just not that exciting right now. A bunch of mediocre teams, which is what the Bears aspire to be.

Waiting for the Bears to get new owners. Also when the Blackhawks are on I give them my attention.

The overall product has become bland, generic and mediocre......all teams pretty much play and look the same to me. The teams could swap uniforms and I couldn't tell and wouldn't know. Broadcast over-saturation as well.....it's great though for taking a really good nap.

I actually have watched a lot less. Bears being horrible doesnt help my enthusiasm but it is just a bad watered down league these days. Just not the NFL that I grew up loving to watch. Give me high school and college games and I am good

Instant replay, bad officiating, endless delays, mediocre product, gyrating, shaking, pointing, strutting players..no thanks.

I watch the entire league every week as much as I ever have, maybe more. I separate myself from the other nonsense and never watch any pre-game or post game stuff. When the pre-game stuff became a bunch of talking heads fake laughing about stuff that isn't funny I quit watching it. I love the game of football at all levels.

If you want just football on Sundays, then NFL RedZone is an excellent choice. I view it every week and I have viewed it more with the Bears playing so badly. However, when the weather is nice I watch a little less because we all know the weather will turn.

But now with the change in the weather and the change with the clock being turned back and it getting dark early, I watch more. PLUS, now it's Thanksgiving week and things get real interesting from here on out.

There are things about the NFL I don't especially like. But the games themselves outweigh that.

All good points. I think the product is worse because of free agency for offensive lineman. But I believe in free agency so I can't have it both ways.

I do not agree with the tired argument about QB play. QBs may have become more important as RBs have become interchangeable. But let's not forget the past allowed QBs like Steve Bartkowski and Jim Zorn to be pro bowlers and Dave Krieg and Chris Chandler to have long careers. Bad QB play is more the historic norm than just a problem today. There was a golden age between 2000 and 2010 that saw plenty of great QBs but it's a moment in time not the norm.

Oversaturation or killing the golden goose and the Kaepernick situation probably hurt ratings the most.

Not starting a right or wrong Kaep thread. I just know that some casual fans with ties to the military don't watch as much as they used to using that reason as why they don't.
