he got in briefly just now.... looked him up and before today he had played in 5 games and is averaging 4 points and 2.8 rebounds...new scenery has not helped his game

He just isn't any good. Too raw to ever make it at high level consistently.
College basketball saw those years of those lanky guys who went on to make huge impacts in college (Joakim Noah, KD, AD, etc).
One of my biggest pet peeves against Cal was him continuing to recruit those players like Ugonna. The guys I listed are the exception, not the norm.

Cal always talked about positionless basketball. When you have a team full of Ugonna, Lance Ware and Oscar types, ut really is positionless because you can’t who is doing what because they are all equally clogging up the paint
Ugonna was NEVER good and UK wasn’t his problem. The guy is literally a stick out there and I don’t think he’s gonna ever put on the muscle/body mass to be effective.
This is an example of calipari recruiting. Recruit based off how many stars are next to the name.
Ugonna was a five star name and a 2 star game.
Ugonna was and always will be Shagari 2.0.
Ugonna seemed to have some moments then just disappear. The skills just never were there for his build and it appears this year is no different for him at a new school. Like the kid but don't ever see him becoming much at this level and beyond.
All of which begs the question… why was he playing HERE?? Cals recruiting and player scouting has eroded as well.

He’s a 10-15mpg big man that can rebound a little and block shots. He is good for a dunk or 2, a lob or putback once In awhile. Just the kind of player he turned out to be and that’s fine. Just not a starter or a star like he was projected to be.

Ugonna was supposed to be such a great shot blocker.....he could block sun light with a shade
He had some of the worst hands I've ever seen. It's hard to be effective on offense if you can't catch the ball.
