Pope basically patch worked a team in about 3-4 weeks. They're 14-4 with a fist full of Q1 wins.

Three of the losses have one common denominator: FT disparity.
I mean we had ZERO returning players and we have a BRAND NEW STAFF TO BOOT. What Pope has done e this year is nothing short of remarkable.
I totally agree we are way ahead of schedule. Hopefully we can get on a run and make it back to the final four.
Far more competitive than we have been for a few years, and more fun to watch. Team has flaws but I think they will do better in the NCAA Tournament than Cal has done over the past 5 years.

Even though I wanted CCC gone as much as the next fan, I had been dreading the year after he left for a long time because I knew the next coach would be screwed because they would be starting from scratch. I knew every single player would leave (they did) or the car salesman would take a bunch of them with him to his next (he did).
I am so pleasantly surprised at how much fun and successful this season has been so far. Pope will win a title in the next few years and he's young enough to be here another 20 years.
