WB6 week 8 preview

Moline vs United Township: Oh, I am excited for this one! Two teams with a lot to play for in this one. Moline still has an outside shot at the conference title (unlikely but possible) and UT is looking to overtake second place and better their playoff seeding. The thing I look at in this one is that Moline is coming off a bye week and you wonder if there is any rust. UT comes into this one having basically had a tune up game against Rocky. UT 35 – Moline 28.

Rock Island vs Galesburg: In the past, one used to say that Rocky probably has this one. This year...not so much. Galesburg has been finding it’s footing, and even shocked Quincy last week. Rocky...well, there is something wrong in Rocky. Galesburg 56 – Rocky 21.

Quincy vs Sterling: Another big game in the conference. For Sterling, a win all but gives them the conference title. Quincy is looking to right the ship after a loss to Galesburg. It’s a long trip for Sterling, but ever since their week 1 loss, they have continued to find a way to get stops when needed and move the ball seemingly at will. Sterling 42 – Quincy 24.

Geneseo has the week off...having lost 3 of their last 4, this might be a good time for the Leafs to catch a break.

Moline vs. UT should hopefully be a solid game! I feel like Moline's ground game will chew up clock and their defense has held up against powerful offenses. I feel like it's Moline 35 UT 28 (Like the Quincy result).

But watch both teams score 40 points each like Sterling and Geneseo dang near did when I though that would've been a low scoring affair!

Sterling looked so flat tonight, was it the 3 hour drive? Sterling opens the game with a nice drive, scores 7-0 then makes a stop, drives back down ready to make it 14-0 but gets stopped at the 1 yard line for the second straight week in a row, after that, they looked slow and stunned and didn’t look themselves and it was all Quicy after that, they could not be stopped. Congrats to Quincy.

I thought it was going to be a long night after that 1st drive of Sterling as Quincy has had trouble with tough running games. The interception seemed to take a lot of steam out of Sterling. The thing that stood out to me was how clean (until 4th quarter) Quincy's offense was with penalties. That and having their starting RB back made a huge difference.
