CC's junior year was an outlier. Was Iowa seeded 3rd or 4th that year? Senior year was somewhat of an outlier, too but yes, the top two or four teams generally are so much better than all of the other teams.

Geno is no longer able to win just by showing up and that whiny entitled prick doesn't like it. He didn't like Pat Summit either because she was a great coach. Maybe Geno is just a misogynistic a$$?

USC will take the reins from UCLA as long as JuJu returns.

I'd expect to see USC, Michigan, Maryland, and UCLA to hover at the top of the B1G.

All teams with proven HCs.

All going to come down to which schools are going to put up $$$ for top talent.
I think that's part if it. A lot of it now has to do with identifying best fit for what you need and utilizing financial resources in the most efficient manner. Iowa wasted resources on Emely and Addie last year. There's no other way to look at it. They got good value from CCW. We need more CCW's and fewer Emelys and Addies.

Their NIL stack has to be huge already with all current top players and a full roster.

The Gamecocks’ 2027 recruiting class:

▪️5⭐️ GG Banks (ranked #4)
▪️5⭐️ Jordyn Palmer (ranked #7) (new commit today)
▪️5⭐️ Zaniya Johnson (ranked #18)
▪️4⭐️ Taylor Brown (ranked #30)

They're still in the running for #1 and #2 in the 2027 class yet but I don't see how they can take them unless some are creaned off the team. If #1 Kalenna Smith wants to commit here, how can you turn that down?

Weird is they have 15 players on the roster now. I only see 3 exits and 4 incoming already. That's already 16 next year.

Interesting times! Playing catch up seems like a monumental task.

SC, UConn and USC, top 3 teams ranked now, seem like a lock for HS talent. Guess as long as one F4 spot remains open there's still hope to become upper elite. JJ needs to find a way to fine tune her 4 out React and React better than her first year if she wants to keep on climbing to get there before someone else does. Scoring 90+ on a Top 20 team, at least on the surface and only a scrimmage, seems like a step in the right direction so far.

We play a 300th ranked team tomorrow. Should win it by 45+ pts. However, its a scrimmage and Jan may want to play Bria and Ella more when we get a big lead.

From a pure financial standpoint UConn likely has the most solid financial base. UConn has I believe 18 million in Rev share this year which is 2.5 million less than Iowa. The caveat is UConn’s WBB generates far more revenue than their football team so I would guess their rev share percentage would be allocated accordingly. Most of the major Universities are likely allocating at least 75% of the money to the football programs. The football programs pay the bills. UConn’s men’s and women’s BB programs generate far more money than their football program.

Which is why teams like Creighton, Gonzaga and some others should be able to stay relevant. Certainly UConn's mens will get their share as well.....

You missed one: It's spelled I-O-W-A.

FWIW: The World Series features a pair of small-market teams that spend about one third as much on their rosters as teams like the Dodgers, Mets, and Yankees. Milwaukee (103 wins) and Tampa Bay (98 wins) led their leagues in victories. They proved over 162 games they are the best team in each league. They don't have the stars or the money that many other teams have. But they know how to use what they do have to the best advantage. Look at the Iowa football team. Look at the Iowa men's basketball team last year--an Elite Eight run that fell just short of the Final Four with a bunch of guys from places like Drake. Just thought I'd mention it.

Lolol.. Funny you mention Iowa's football team "know how to use what they have to their advantage", but you spend much of your time running down the coach and questioning his decisions. Just a brain fart day or what?
