With Willie it always looks like he never has control of the ball when he's shooting little jump-hooks etc...The ball always seems to almost roll off his palm, like he can't palm the ball or his hands are small....kinda weird.....Anybody else notice this?

With Karl, he always has control of the ball on shots and he palms it from time to time when he needs to......But I don't think I've ever seen Willie palm the ball.....?

If he ever gets real control of the ball in his hand, he could really dominate

Not only control the ball and quit shot putting it from his palms, but play like he's 7 foot instead of a 6'2 guard trying to finish in traffic amongst the trees. Too much indecision and double clutching. Go up with some authority and with a purpose.

Almost like he pushes the ball toward the basket. And he seems to shoot so hard! Sometimes it's like he gets nervous and just says, "Forget it, I'll just throw the ball at the backboard and hope it goes in."

But some games, when he has it going, he looks really good. It's a mystery. I'd say it's mostly mental.

Looks like a couple of things with Willie. He does seem to shoot those short shots around the rim with the ball in his palms and not his fingertips. That results in more of a sling vs a finger roll type flip which is why the ball caroms off the rim/backboard in an ugly fashion. He also gets in too big a hurry....would love to see him gather himself, maybe pump fake a defender and either dunk it or use his fingers to get some touch on the ball.

Concentrates on defense......this has affected his offense some. You know that Calipari gives him the top assignments. Today playing solid defense against KT Harrell.

Willie is much better facing the basket than he is in the post. His jumper looks good. He can pump fake after hitting those and drive for the dunk or dish. Willie's potential is through the roof at the next level.
