I’m not sure he’ll get go 30 in his condition. Not sure I would risk it. I mean I’d love him to get 30, but I’m not sure they’ll do that night in and night out.
He’s here one season. Gotta get what we can out of him

I really like what I see with Lowe and JQ on the floor together. Oweh is also playing much better. I'm not convinced St. John's is a good team, but I don't really care. It's more about how we played.
Well, I don't think St John's is a good team on offense, though they've got some players who can make their own offense, BUT there is no question they're very good on the defensive end. That's what they've been hanging their hat on lately. They weren't playing hard nosed defense early in the season, and they ended up with losses to Alabama and Auburn (those were close games, though). Pitino changed gears and began to emphasize defense, and the team responded. Right now, that's what they are doing best. I'd say they're as good defensively as any we've played this season. Offensively, they've got some scorers, but they're clearly not as good.

No confidence and can’t get an open shot. Can’t beat players off the dribble so they just play him at the 3 point line.

The way Kam looked yesterday with a full squad, he has to start at the 3. His D is maybe the best as far as perimeter players go. And with Lowe out there Kam is getting in a better rhythm on O.

Lowe
Oweh
Williams
Mo
JQ

Chandler
Aberdeen

These 3 most min off the bench

JJ/noah/garrison minutes if really need due to foul trouble but the top 8 need most, if not all, minutes right now to get this team to peak by late Feb.

Oh, and I have a major man crush on the man child JQ. A bigger Bam (my all time fav cat) who has some Chris Webber vibes.

Chandler is an average defender, at best. I’m not sure where the narrative comes from that touts him as a defender. Last yr he was one of the best on the team, especially when Butler was out. But that was like being the tallest midget. He’s not bad, but he’s nowhere close to earning mins because of his defense.

I believe that, in a month, JQ will play 25+ minutes, sometimes in tandem with MM while he spells Mo. MM will get the majority of the backup minutes with Garrison getting 5-10 minutes. Of course, foul trouble and whoever has the hot hand will cause these minutes to change from game to game.
Now that Pope has gone away from the traditional Zoom looks, there’s a world where all four of MO, JQ, MM, and BG can get mins. Loved the high-low stuff yesterday. Needed change given the personnel.

It would be interesting to see how JJ would do paired with Lowe for extended minutes. JJ has a scorer's vibe and could benefit from Lowe's creativity.

Agreed. I think you’ll see his shifts get a little longer and total mins get to around 25, which given his size and the way he plays is about right. On nights when needed can probably push that a bit and dial back when not needed.

Aberdeen can leave the team now as far as I’m concerned. He has hurt this roster with his selfish play.
Aberdeen needs to learn how to play with Lowe and Oweh on the court with him. If he can fit into a flowing offense, we have a chance to be pretty good and improve going forward.
