We’ve all thought about it, but how...

I'm 39 and my blood pressure, blood sugar, pulse, cholesterol, etc are all good to go. I workout and try to walk when I play golf. I quit smoking at 29, quit eating sweets 4 years ago, and quit drinking a month ago. I'm feeling like I'm about at the halfway point. My wife can retire around 55, but I will probably work till 65 because I like my work and we will need healthcare. She hates working and we will probably have grandchildren by then. Honestly I am ready to go and make a run at crushing out this last 40 years. If they are as good as the first 40 have been my life will have been well lived and abundantly blessed.

Where is your hometown?

I am 40 and feel like I am good health. I used to run 4-5 days a week but the pounding it took out on my knees and back were not worth it. Just quit about two months ago and only running one day a week and walking 2-3 miles every night with my dog. I have never been big on lifting weights but will probably start soon as walking doesn't feel like I have accomplished anything.

I felt like I never had anxiety or panic attacks but the last few years has been different. I am hoping/assuming its just my line of work and now I have 2 girls. Regardless, I am confident its taken a few years off my life. I would expect to live to my late 70's. My biggest fear is living and not being mentally there...scares the ish out of me.

Don't know and don't want to. Death is rarely "peaceful" from what I've seen so I don't expect it to be without suffering. It's a cruel world and if I were in charge, it wouldn't be like this.

I just hope I never get to where I can't care for myself. Hell, who am I kidding, my wife already cares for my dumb ***, but I at least still bring home the bacon.

I'll probably have a stroke and become a vegetable a few days before my retirement and die choking on a gruel tube in a nursing home.

Watched this doc on HBO that says they have the technology now to slow our cells from aging and that we can live 150 years. But you dont age like now...in other words 60 would be like a mid 30 year old.

Imagine how much that would change society...as far as careers, reproduction, everything

Cool stuff. I am 5”10 with a “34 inch waist.

However, I don’t have the best of genes. I’ve been taking blood pressure and cholesterol medications since I was 40.

I drank way too much, but I workout like crazy five times a week. My diet is also pretty strict. I don’t drink soft drinks, and I gave up rice, pasta, bread, and potatoes months ago.

I’ve never smoked. That being said, both sides of my family have died at a relatively young age. The exceptions being both Grandmothers. My Mom’s Mother was 88, and my Fathers mom was 84.
I’m 53, 5’10” with a 34 waist. I’ve been stuck between 205-210 for about 2 years now. Not hideously obese, but definitely not slim and trim either.

I seldom drink soda, might drink a few beers a week at most, but my diet is pretty carb heavy.

My paternal grandfather died of a heart attack at age 63, but my other three grandparents lived to at least 88. My mom has very high cholesterol (400+ LDL!) but mine has always been about 200.

My maternal grandfather died about 10 days shy of his 95th birthday. He was of sound mind and good health until the last six weeks of his life. I remember him saying “If you don’t have your health, nothing else matters.” It’s really sad to see old people in poor health.

I’d like to think I have a great shot to make it to the mid 80s at least. We’ll see.....

Try and slowly cut back on carbs. Maybe start with cutting out bread and rice.

I eat out a lot, and restaurants are pretty accommodating lower carb. If you ask them to substitute a salad instead of rice, they will.

Give it a shot, it’s really helped me.

According to the Social Security Administration, if you live to age 65 your average life expectancy is 84 (male) or 86 (female). Edit: The average life expectancy in the U.S. is 78.7 years overall. So if you make it to 65, you better plan on living well past the 78.7 average.

I'm 39 and hope I have 39 more in me.

I work with the aging population and between dementia/Alzheimer's/Parkinson's/falls/strokes/cancer/loneliness/hip, knee, shoulder replacements I just hope to go out before it gets...…..bad.

I've worked with some very successful people who got early on-set dementia at around 50-55 years old. Scary ****.
Lotta scary illnesses out there, but dementia and Alzheimer type diseases are what scare me the most.

Well, I've had 2 heart attacks and a stroke so I'm guessing God thinks I need to do some more work here on planet earth...so I have no clue. My mom died of cancer at 59 and my dad died of a heart attack at 69 but he really didn't take care of himself after my mom died. So, I go along one day at a time. BUT...there's always ALIEN abduction! :alien::alien::alien:

32.. have dark hair so the greys are very noticable.. even found a grey ear hair and nose hair..

..first grey sack hair, im ending it all.

Yeah, it’s sad.

I’ve been cutting my sack hair for 30 years now. Occasionally I’ll accidentally cut my sack. It hurts like a sob, so be careful.

Whats with the meat and beans being the ONLY skin on the body that if clippers even get too close to it, instant slice??

I can let my 4 year old stab my head when i shave it, nothing. Get to close down there, sheer pain.

I’m 43 and outlived my expectation. I think I’ve got a solid 15 to 20 left.
Gotta agree. I'm 35 and never thought I'd survive my first deployment. Survived 3 total. Everything after I count myself as grateful and lucky. As King said in Platoon, "all you gotta do is make it out of here (Vietnam) and everyday the rest of your life gonna be gravy." He's largely correct.
