We are 3-7 (1-7) in year 5. Why will this be tolerated?

Simple. We arent serious about winning. When we made Ray Tanner AD that was evident. We were so desperate to be “relevant” that we let 2 baseball trophies lead us down this path
And we let him hire a second football coach after one disaster. The Garnet Way
Because we are SC and we hire hillbilly ADs and anyone who criticizes it are canceled.

Because nobody associated in any way with this program wants or expects to win, not even the fans.
What’s sad, imo, is the way we completely blew the bama and A&M games. Win those and the possibility of a 8 win season still exists despite how futile we have been at times. But alas, that is exactly why we are where we are.
Maybe it’s the day, and the situations are vastly different, but I have the same feeling I had in Frank Martins last year. He had GG coming in, with a decent squad coming back.
The way we have played the last 3 games, all against top 5 opponents, shows we have the players. We get Zion Elee with Stewart coming back, talk LaNorris sticking with the program, what would a restart button look like next year?
I think Martin would have been successful that following year, but Frank seemed to have the same problems year in and year out despite what COULD be. I really like Shane and want him to be successful, but today raised some serious concerns on where we are and hope to attain.

Because nobody except the AD can do anything about it! I guess the money doesn’t
work out, so we’re stuck because of the raise and extendtion that Tanner left us
with!!
We are like the Cubs. Why spend money to win when people keep showing up when we lose willing to give up their hard earned money over “Belief”.
I've often thought our athletic & university brass feel this way. They make their money because the people keep coming, regardless of the on field product.
An experienced half as coach does not lose a game up 8 with a couple minutes to go, and up 30-3 in the second half to only not score a freaking point in 2nd half and lose that game!!
