We are being lied to again by the media

Trump tweeted this:

I believe this tweet to be accurate. As I read it, Trump is calling out FAKE NEWS and specific outlets that engage in fake news. I think it is easy to find examples of fake news from each of these outlets.

Purveyors of fake news in the main stream media are enemies of the American people. Why? Because they are misleading the people. They are lying to the American people. They are slanting their coverage to the American people to achieve a desired outcome. They believe they are smarter than the American people and that the people cannot be trusted to make good decisions. Thus the deceit. That is unAmerican.

The people deserve only facts from the MSM. The people can judge for themselves based on those facts. They don't need to be told what to think, what is good, what is bad by the MSM. They don't need MSM opinion masked as hard news.

The media is crying over this. But if the people are being mislead, the media has become an enemy and not to be trusted. Trump did not say all media is using fake news but those that do, are hurting the American people.

Very recent example:

Chris Cuomo says journalists are going to get hurt by Trump rhetoric:

On CNN's New Day Monday, co-host Chris Cuomo warned that in the midst of President Donald Trump attacking the press as "the enemy of the American people," people, especially journalists, "will get hurt." Senior media correspondent Brian Stelter agreed, "I am worried. I'm worried because somebody who’s deranged can take that language and can take action against a journalist either at a rally or a more private setting."

Cuomo responded, "But that's what I am saying because I said this during the campaign, it's going to happen and I don't want it to. Somebody is going to get hurt. It's just a question of time. Just like every dynamic in life. If you take a legitimate reason to be upset and you pump them up, and it starts to become a call to action. Somebody is going to get hurt."

Now, think back to Gabby Giffords shooting. CNN essentially blamed Palin. Were they worried at that time that someone might seek revenge on Palin (even though Palin had nothing to do with the shooting?

So, CNN lies about Palin or at least calls her out for Gifford's shooting without the slightest concern for accuracy or for her safety, but now they are scared that someone will hurt a journalist?

They have set themselves up to decide what's important, or who is important. They have decided what is the path the country should follow (thus their pro Hillary-anti-Trump coverage) and they think that because they have 1st Amendment protection, that any criticism of their authority to disseminate what they think constitutes "the news" is un American and an attack on their Constitutional right to exist.

What they fail to realize is their own bias, incompetence, dishonesty, and deceit in reporting what is Truth, and they fail to realize the credibility they have lost or claim Trump is attacking is of their own making.

The First Amendment does not give them the right to avoid criticism. They are not some elitists that are immune (although they think they are). They are so very arrogant. They can dish out the criticism, but have shown they can't take it. All the Sunday shows were apoplectic that Trump would dare to call the purveyors of fake news as unAmerican. I think the First Amendment gives Trump that right.

Trump is in good company:

Abraham Lincoln about the media:

“they lie and then they re-lie.”

Thomas Jefferson about the media:

“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper,”

They are so very arrogant.

This is the key to understanding why they operate the way they do. They are supremely arrogant folks.

I think part of the reason is their "celebrity" status. (at least the Broadcast folks)

They think they are more special because people actually know them or see them. They are well paid (for the most part) so they mistake their fame & wealth for authority or superior intellect.

The print folks think they have superior access to information, so they believe that entitles them to place themselves above most other folks in terms of what to think, or how to think. They just think they're better informed than the average Joe who they consider ignorant.

They also by and large are secular Humanists (atheists or agnostics) so they "play God" deciding what they think is fair or good or decent or the best most equitable way to organize Society with Justice. They think "God" and "Religion" is irrational, myopic, and unable to solve the complex delicate issues facing a modern, culturally diverse, racially cosmopolitan, and dynamically changing society.
