Appreciate the optimism, but our offense isn’t the problem. We can’t flip a switch and start defending well like Alabama can. We better hope we play the top defensive teams that struggle with offense, because when we play a good offensive team we will be sent packing.

Ncaa is a crapshoot. I don't think a sweet 16 is guaranteed at all. It depends on matchups and of course the health of UK by then.

Alabama is pretty good at offense. They made a lot of tough shots, it isn’t as simple as poor defense, not in this game. Our defense isn’t great to be clear but tonight was an example of what Alabama can do anyone.

If anyone thought we were going to Ala. playing the #4 team in the nation with 3 of our best players and winning I don't know what to say. I thought we played good for a while but # 00 for UK just had a bad game. We are going to be fine. We get our players back and healthy we will be OK.

The stretch where we were up 12 I believe shows the potential of our team. Guys were just overworked in this game.

Get our full roster back before the start of the tournament, we are a final four team.

This team got smoked by Arkansas at home at close to ful strength. I aint buying it and I'm not convinced we ever get healthy
Close to full strength??? You mean when we were down both of our point guards and our starting PF could barely walk to the bench, after returning from a back injury that has him in a back brace?

Most predicted we would lose before the game started.. Then bitched the whole game about losing.. 😂

Just goes to show a lot of fans do not really know basketball and see through blue tinted glasses. I would give anything to win there but common sense is not used that much anymore.
I said yesterday if we could keep them from getting to 90 we probably win but if they did hit 90,, nope.. Aah on to the next game.. I'm not worried about the next 3 or 4 games,, whatever it is.. Get Butler and Robinson back for the tournament and I like my team..

Guards have destroyed us the last two road games with THEIR offense.

Not sure what your point is here. Our opponents’ offenses are destroying us because our defense isn’t good enough. When another team gets a lead on us it’s bad news because we can’t string together stops. We can only improve marginally on offense, but our defense is miles behind contending teams. If we get Butler and Robinson back, our offense might get a small efficiency boost, but nothing that will compensate for our mediocre defensive efficiency. We can’t bear down and get a stop like other teams can, we just have to hope the opponent misses their higher quality looks and we make our lower quality looks.

IF we get healthy, I do think we can make a sweet sixteen and even a final four if we get a favorable path and play our best games in the tourney. I’m just not counting on it with the defense we have.

I’ll be cheering them on until the end, whenever that may come. Hopefully it’s with a healthy Butler and Robinson.

Let me say it slowly for you. The guards that are out are better than the two that are in, both offensively and defensively. Others got my point, so I don’t care if you don’t. Enjoy the rest of your life.

Our defense was much worse. LOL at you guys that constantly lay on the ground and cry. How do you get through life??
I’m confused. Who’s crying? And about what. I’m just saying they beat us at home when we did have both of those guys

Dude … 🤣 I understand your faulty point just fine. You are the one having a hard time grasping the more nuanced point that I’m making.

You complain about everyone else being negative, but you are the one throwing a tizzy when someone doesn’t agree with you.

I don’t mind your over the top optimism, but if you are going to be a dick to me I’ll just add you to the block list.

It wasn't really poor defense, our defensive efficiency actually improved after this game.

It's Coach Pope's first year. Had to completely build a roster. The only Coach who had great success his 1st year was Tubby Smith. Took over a FF team that had talented and experienced players returning.

Folks need to not have a microwave mentality with him. Give him time.

90+ percent of us are excited for the future. The other 10% are using Pope and UK to vent other frustrations. Selfish, yes, but that's the world we live in.

35 and 3 sec regular season and tournament and elite 8 was a pretty good first year as well.

I hate how Cal ended up here but I'm not gonna say that wasn't a great first year. Tubby had an epic first year to me. Winning a title is hard and the way he did it was amazing.

I actually agree with the OP here….maybe my first time agreeing with him.

However, That doesn’t make him any less of a d-bag. Every. Single. Post. Sponsored by Masengill feminine body wash.

Sure thing Mitch. How many years do you think... 4 or 5?
