In the span of 4 days has fired their head coach, found his replacement with a very promising hire of Will Stein. And now he has already tabbed his new OC, rising star Justin Burke (who was on my wish list).

We fired our OC over a month ago.

UF hired Sumrall a couple days ago, and he's already tabbed his new DC.

Auburn hired Golesh this week and he has much of his staff already in place.

Typical Beamer hiring pattern. I’m coming around to the mindset of those who say we should have gone ahead and bit the bullet this year and made the wholesale change. ZERO confidence that Beamer can successfully make this hire.
He says things like "I'm not just gonna hire someone to hire someone" but these other coaches go out and find quality assistants in a matter of days.
It's not THAT complicated.

Shurburtt said yesterday he'd be concerned if we don't have an OC hired by Sunday.

I'm hopeful maybe the delay in the OC hire was linked to the uncertainty of Blackwell's status. I could see Beamer wanting to retain Blackwell through yesterday to see if we landed a RB. With that position possibly in flux, though, it might make sense if he waited on the OC hire until that was decided.

He's not prepared. Even if you are not looking for someone you should have people in mind if you needed someone. You should always be planning for the future

And yet he does that every time! Hires someone just to hire someone.

We can't wait to see which QB will be under center to hire the OC. Even if Sellers stays, that's a one and done. Letting one player hold you hostage from the most important hire in your career and keeping you from getting canned next year makes zero sense. There are too many dual threat QBs that will be in the portal, and we already have two sitting ready to be coached up. Coach Beamer make the hire or "Get on the Line!"

Possible Beamer also wanted to wait until Duckworth was safely in the fold. I'm sure it helps with a prospective OC to see Sellers, Noland and Duckworth in his tool bag.

Not a lot of guys looking to sign up with a head coach who is basically on a one year contract.

If I was an OC, it wouldn't matter. If the new OC puts up a lot points, they may get a look at the new HBC. On another note, if he's putting up points, we should be winning games and Beamer's seat goes cold.

I usually think the opposite. You line up the coach to entice the player. Oh well.

Is Duckworth able to play day one?

I'm hanging my hat on the fact that Beamer wanted to deal with the Blackwell situation and get Duckworth in the fold before moving on the OC hire. I would expect an announcement soon if that is the case.... I believe this was you post on another thread. You are all over the place!

Well, sure, I said it another thread b/c topics are being discussed across multiple threads. I posted this thread this morning prior to the news about Blackwell, so naturally that altered my thinking.

If u envy Kentucky’s situation, then I feel sorry for you. How about we stop with the “oh my gosh Florida hiredBilly Napier“ approach until we find out who we hire. For all, you know, Beamer is talking to someone who is the coordinator for a playoff bound team

With all due respect, why would someone who’s a coordinator for a cfp-bound team take a giant step backwards to come here?

I heard that Faulkner is headed to UF as OC.

If Beamer doesn't have his man by Sunday we will end up with a retread.
