Let's let the big guy know how much we want him at UK. We are building a dominating OL and he can be a special part of it.

Let's give him some shout outs.

Speak for yourself, I have no interest in a local 5-star - we can do better.

You know a couple of months ago, I would have thought UK had zero shot at this kid. But now I am not so sure. Everyone made it sound like Alabama was basically his dream offer. Yet when the offer came and Saban started pressuring him to commit right away, he didn't do it. Now, perhaps it is really another offer he is waiting on. But he could just be taking everything in and being deliberate about his decision. And maybe, just maybe, he might be recognizing how our OL has shown major improvement this season and has become a major team strength. It is certainly a possibility that Jedrick is now giving UK more consideration than many believe.

But the bad news is Michigan became a player a while back.

i cant blame a kid for going to bama. but i think this offense, with these coaches, and this line will have success and send multiple guys to the NFL. wouldn't be a bad idea to stay home and be a hero.

From what I have heard there has been negative recruiting from some rival coaches regarding Schlarman. They have been trying to convince Wills that he isn't a very good line coach. Heck some of our own fans have been saying the same thing. Now going into last weeks game Kentucky's O-line was ranked 5th nationally by S&P and we have been moving the ball on the ground in an impressive fashion against just about every opponent. Obviously Mr. Wills is now quite aware of just how good this line is and how well our coaches have done in developing them.

I would think that this development would have a positive effect on his recruitment, and I don't know about him, but it wouldn't set too well with me to discover that a coach has been lying to me.

Alabama lands 4 guys like Wills every year. And they have to all stay at least 3 years. If you go to a program like that you have to hope you can beat out the other guys. If not you still have a front seat to some pretty great football, by you can get buried on the depth chart real quick.

If this is true about the negative recruiting then we may still have a shot of getting Wills. To me the fact that he has not verbally committed to one of the big boys is encouraging . I do think that Scharlman has proven is worth this year. Wills would be a fantastic get if we could land him, but I am not going to hold my breath and worry over it. He will be successful wherever he chooses to go. And even if he goes elsewhere, we will be okay, but we would be better with him than without him.

I want him, of course, but hope he can live up to the hype.
Leavitt and Elam come to mind as a pair with lofty, and perhaps unreasonable, expectations.

I look back on leaving HS many years ago, and recall that one thing that excited me about my college options was the prospect of leaving home. Lots of young men think they want or even need to do it, for any one of several possible reasons. So, hey, if he feels like staying home and being a Cat, and that will make him happy, great. Hope it does. On the other hand, if he sees better opportunity elsewhere and a chance to fly the nest more completely, OK, I get that. At least he has been a man about it all along. Keeping Lexington kids might be the toughest pitch of all in-state recruiting jobs. They've already spent the first 18 years of their lives "on campus" in many instances. Certainly, sticking around will feel natural to many, but some are looking for an adventure. If he stays, you certainly want to think he has made the right decision for himself, and not the Nation. First and foremost, you gotta have kids who are making a real commitment, not just responding to pressure.

No matter what he does can we at least all agree to let him go quietly instead of giving him all sorts of grief over his decision? I understand why we did it to the running back who will not be named. I too believe that he somewhat led us on. However, Wills has done nothing of the sort to this point and deserves nothing but respect regardless of where he chooses to play his college football.

Agreed! He's definitely done very little to "lead on" our fans

I'm hoping Schlarman can really get in his head that it's not all about the big time name but about how you perform as an individual at your job and breakout the NFL roster to back it up as a resource and sell UK to him. If he goes to Bama then fine, I'll still support and wish him the best

Bama and Michigan "want" you. We "need" you.

There's a big difference. But if you must go elsewhere, go Michigan. You'd still have a stellar college career with a chance at the playoffs....then get drafted well....and we don't have to stare at you across enemy lines for 4 yrs.

Not sure but he does seem to want playing time early but the problem with that is Bama and Michigan are loaded with depth. And with both of them saying that he could possibly be more of a guard then a tackle I can see why he is not making any snap decisions. For Kentucky, it might have better with us with Wills if we had started out better. But then, we are showing up much better, he sees a full house when we play, and sees that our recruits are excited and not leaving what looked like a sinking ship. If we go out the rest of the season, beat AP, get bowl eligible and give both UT and UL a fight no matter if we win lose or lose, who knows who he will pick?
