Only because there's nothing Minnesotans like to talk about more, I thought we needed a thread on weather. It looks like they're having a tough go of it in Atlanta today and tomorrow (and of all weeks, with the Super Bowl in town), we heard them also talk about the cold in South Bend last night during the broadcast.

But, it's colder than a witch's t*t in Minnesota right now. The listed high for today is -8, with 35-below zero wind chills. Tomorrow the high is -18, with 50- and 60-below wind chills. The state is almost shut down. I picked the wrong week to not be traveling or on vacation. This sucks!

Not as cold here as it is there, but cold enough. Wednesday low is 4*, with wind chill of -15.

I am a weather diva .
I hate anything colder than 60, and anything hotter than 80.

I hate rain
I hate snow
I hate high winds

I love golf, and the houseboat.
Any weather that isn't ideal for those two things sucks!!!!

Be careful out there. I've heard it has already killed people.

We just got back from Belize. It was nice. Rained a few times, but overall it was sunny and in the mid 80's. Definitely wish we could live somewhere in the Caribbean during the winter months.

56 here now
23 for the low tonight and wind chills in the teens.

I know it’s nothing like what some of you are experiencing, but this southern boy hates the cold.

It's 46 in Spartanburg and raining. One of my best friends moved to Richmond Indiana a couple of years ago and I think it is supposed to be like a low of -7 tomorrow and a high of 0 up there. He hates it but has a great job so he is riding it out. You can't beat S.C weather, you yankees stay out of here :)

Which begs the question. Why not go on vacation to more hospitable climes and make it last awhile? Say, the rest of your life? :))

We get the Ohioans that run out of gas on their way to S.C. No coincidence that the opioid and methamphetamine problems are increasing here.

We’ve gotten lucky this year in Oregon. It’s been sunny more often than not and in the 50s. Stay warm all you Midwesterners. I grew up in the Midwest but don’t remember anything as bad as what you have now.

In near Georgetown.
I have been to Barren a lot. Used to fish bass tournaments there.
I have a boat on Taylorsville now, so I spend most of my time at that lake.
Love Dale too.......especially the golf course!!

You a Vikings fan?

Unfortunately, yes.

Snowing here. Sending my staff home soon.

I sent out an email to my staff over the lunch hour, as well. Told them it was ok to shut down early today, and for those able to work from home tomorrow they should take advantage of it.

It's pretty ridiculous right now outside. I had a lunch appointment out of the office....between the cold and the wind it's hardly safe.

I can’t wrap my head around -20 weather. Like I literally can’t imagine it. Even when I lived in Long Island I don’t think it ever got that cold. I feel it in the bones during the teens, and to drop it another 20-30 degrees? Brutal.

I'm with Mr. Sumner, the only thing worse than a guy who lives in Minnesota is a guy in Minnesota complaining it's cold. :p

It's not even complaining anymore....almost like a source of some kind of stupid pride now.

Being a Vikings fan is worse than the cold weather. But every fall they suck me back in. I'm hopeless....

North Carolina has the craziest weather. One day it could be in the 60’s with lows in the 40’s then the next day it could be in the 40’s with lows in the teens then the next day it could be in the 50’s with lows in the 20’s or 30’s. I’ve seen it go from highs in the 40’s one day to highs in the 80’s the next day to highs in the 30’s the next day in the middle of February.

I hated it for other reasons, but other than high winds, you should live in New Mexico. Other than high winds, it is the perfect weather state. Not to hot, rarely gets cold, no tornadoes, earthquakes, or hurricanes. Only major bad weather is hail seems to be extra hazardous there.

My wife farms (so I farm) and even in a "normal" year, you live and die with each peak and valley. "Average rainfall" never falls in 365 equal amounts. But that doesn't matter; we haven't had a normal year in 5 years.

Climate change is real, y'all.

They also make the best meth in New Mexico. Or at least, they used to. :)

What ever happened to that Walter White fellow, anyway? Hope it ended well for him.

And, technically, earthquakes aren't actually weather. Just dangerous.

But we don't have that in these parts. Just hurricanes. Oh, do we have hurricanes. But I'll keep those as a better option than wind chills of minus 50.

The polar vortex has left the Midwest. It’s warmed up to a balmy seven degrees today with six inches of snow.

Only eight more days until I spend the rest of February and early March away from here.

Portland OR got maybe an 1/8 of an inch of snow in some areas last night and this morning. Some icy roads, but not a lot. Everyone freaked out. Late arrival school day. Businesses shut down. Cats getting along with dogs. Mass hysteria everywhere.

For a town known for having a bunch of snowflakes, they sure do freak out when they see an actual snowflake.
