Could be some frozen fields this Saturday. It's nasty here in the middle of Lake Co. today and no warm up in sight.

Hopefully some sun, then at least the turf fields will be a little bit warmer

How do the turf fields hold up in the cold? Do the rubber pellets underneath freeze into a hard mass?

Clown,

Not normally unless the field is flooded when it freezes. Good news to is that typically the Glass transition temperature for the rubber pellets is much lower than the freezing point of hydrated soil, so in general will be much “softer” than a grass field; unless said field were to be heated(normally only NFL fields have this).
