Elkin gets hammered by Ashe and drops like 2 places. East Surry gets hammered by the best 2A program in the state and drops 5 spots...
Saying that will upset some folks in Cleveland County
I would’ve thought Robbinville or Mitchell would’ve been two. Holmes has a case also. Is Murphy that good this year?
Heres Maxpreps rankings which seem alot closer. I'm sure most will agree.

Just my opinion but Mitchell is a little high in both and Rville low in both.

I think Murphy is too high is Chris's, and East Surry is too high in MaxPreps. Right now I see

Same teams, different order. Holmes could also make the case for #1, and while I feel Mitchell may be too high, I dont see anyone ranked below that is better. Mount Airy is young, but had a strong showing against Pisgah, and Murphy, also young, showed alot of heart against Franklin.

No one is making you read what I post.
I'm not complaining about anything. I'm simply pointing out that I disagree with East Surry being punished for losing to Reidsville while Elkin got a slap on the wrist for way under achieving to Ashe.
If you don't like it move on, and stop trying to start something.

What have any of the teams done other than Mitchell? Tarboro only led a bad SW Edgecombe team 14 -0 at the half..that is very uncharacteristic.
Nothing overrated. They will demolish Bishop this week but so will everyone else. Now their qb is hurt. Only have one weapon, Gosnell
Valid argument. It was Tarboro's first game, everyone else was rusty on their opening night (except Holmes). Robbinsville won both their games in expectable fashion, Mount Airy lost a nail biter to Pisgah (their first game), Mitchell beat an unknown Statesville and a stout Smoky, Holmes wiped the floor with 2a powerhouse Northeastern. East Surry beat a normally good, seemingly down North Davidson by 3, and got floored at home by Reidsville (a team they beat last year, but likely no one else in 1a would hang either). I just think so far, East hasn't shown us anything to warrant a top 3 ranking.
MaxPreps usually don’t update until late Monday bro. So you’ll definitely see a change b/c no way East Surry is #1
Nope, they updated yesterday my man. That is their latest ranking believe it or not.
Tarboro did look rusty in the first half. But in the second half they woke up. SW had a very good defense and also it was Tarboros first in game competition. We had no scrimmage, we had no jamboree either. Now our defense was phenomenal.
I still think that North Davidson win is a good win. I think they are treating it as such on Max Preps. Not saying I agree with it.
Its not a "bad" win, I was just making the observation that ND doesn't appear as strong as usual.
No that’s actually normal for Tarboro. You do know that was Tarboro’s 1st game right and we never actually beat SWE terrible. I don’t know why but they’re one of the few teams that Tarboro never puts 40 on. But no way East Surry should be above Tarboro, Mitchell, Holmes, Robbinsville, nor Murphy and that’s a fact! Had Tarboro lost that bad and they were still #1 I would say the exact same about them
Agreed. This season feels so wrong in a way and to start off w/ a county rival made it seem even more wrong. Once I saw those big time runs I knew it was over

Mitchell counties poll is close in relation to the Northwest, I think its a three team race. After seeing the Bears up close Friday night i have to wonder what the Bears would have looked like with Poindexter at the helm last season. He looked way ahead of his receiver's Friday night, Very Sharp. Back to this season, the bears will be real good by seasons end, very young but also Extremely capable. We haven't seen an incoming Freshman class like this since the wheeler / Dodson days and quite honestly I don't think they were this good at the same point. I think Prep , ES , and Ma are a toss up right now for a conference title. Bears had Freshmen / sophomore's playing at several positions Friday night and a few starters who were on the hardwood The Tuesday night before playing for a regional title. Having North Iredell cancel game defiantly didn't help their cause either. Defiantly going to be interesting to see. Couple names to be on the lookout for the next few years , Derick Dandy, Ian Gallimore. Both are freshman and both had big games on Friday night. Dandy is 6-4 200 lbs. as a Freshman, Gallimore is being touted as one of the top in his 2024 class at his position . Bears future is extremely bright.

It really does. It's honestly gonna be Tarboros toughest competition the rest of this regular season. I also really liked what I saw out of Tarboros secondary we have more speed than what we had a year ago. My hope is that Tarboro goes 1aa I've heard rumors we could go small 1a.
Only 32 teams make it this year instead of 64 so cutoff line will be different than normal for sure
I bet it ends up the same. For some reason, no matter what realignment is, or who makes the field, 500 +/- is the magic number lol
Was able to get in the East/Reidsville game and believe me East is not the east from last year. A lot of hype from the East faithful and the head coach, but it's more like wish full thinking. Just my opinion but they are a bottom half of top 10. They have some Jimmy's but not enough Joe's.

Well, everyone outside of Pilot Mountain knew they weren't reloading to last years level. That was a once in decade 1a team, probably in the top 5 best 1a NC teams ever. I think they are still solid this year, but top dog they are not.

Whatever it is should have no effect on the Knights. I’ve heard they’re DEEP and not your typical deep either. Like your Mariana Trench type Deep.. At least that’s the word. I’ve read that one or ten times somewhere.
