Batavia LB's
Janzy and Weertz get the pub and deserve it 100% but Urwiler(who gets more pub on the offensive side), he's a beast on D..

Those 3 dudes are the main reason for Batavia's success the last couple of years.. That, and the best coaching staff in the state..

I was going to let someone else nominate them. Love and JJ are locks at this rate.

Michael Love is showing he's a clear Power 5 athlete.
Don't sell Evans short. He is actually the leading receiver on the roadrunners for yardage. And he's an absolute beast CB.

Tumility's of Willobrook---not so much position wise per se as much as their overall multi team contributions. Just a treat to watch. Two best o-lineman so far in WSS that I've seen are Brendan Passerelli of HC (G) and Joshua Mathiasen
of York (G).

While we don’t have the star power - we have a bunch of very good, tough, and hard nosed HS football players that:
1 play hard,....really hard.
2 execute their assignments (and don’t improvise & gamble trying to get hudl highlights),
3 trust that their teammates will execute their assignments (and not try and “do it all”)

On offense if I had to pick one player - it would be #7 Bryce Logan RB. Very quick, great wiggle, runs low with low pad level, reminds me of a lighter (weight wise) Vittorio Tricase from Glenbard North. VT was like trying to tackle a bowling ball with legs! Still have nightmares from 2015 and 2016 even though WV won those games (barely).

On Defense: I would nominate the entire defense from the DL (including our rotational guys), To the LBers and finally the DBs. Not sure I could pick just one from the defense as that would be a disservice to the entire group which is playing very very well and definitely overachieving the sum of their parts.

From all the other teams I have seen year to date -

* Bo Richter - LB/TE? Naperville North - man can he play (on both sides of the ball).

* Payton Thorne - QB Naperville Central - don’t think I need to sing any of his praises.

* napervillebuck’s choice is a good one also so I second that.

* didn’t get to see enough of the Eville QB as both he and WVs QB were both knocked out of the game in the second QTR - but I saw enough that I can see why Notre Dame wants him as a WR or RB. He only ran it 10 times before he went out (and gained just a couple of yards due to lost yardage from sacks) but you could see he was just in fast forward compared to most of the rest of the kids on the field. Major game speed difference when he has the ball.

* OPRF has a DE that stands out from the crowd but I didn’t catch his name or number and it was like a lifetime ago in footballl weeks.

Isaiah Ruffin--Cincy commit. But you could also be talking about Zephaniah Jackson who is also a force at DE.

I’m not sure which one I was oogling - maybe I was looking at both and in retrospect...was thinking it was the same guy!;) Was such a long time ago... I knew there was at least one that hit my voodoo radar screen during the game!
