LWW would be in South and IHSA would put JCA in the North so all the catholics could beat up on each other and allow LWW a pass all the way to DeKalb.

How is Nazareth ranked #3 when the team that beat them going away (MCC) is at #8? I guess these rankings don't mean much anyways. Should be a great 5A play-offs this year that is for sure.

I would say most voters considered the game to be a fluke situation given the weather. Doesn't mean it is right or wrong, just how they voted it.

Bishop Mac should dominate 3A.

Would like to see Rochester play Rockford Lutheran in 4A. That would be a fun game.

Lutheran has no chance against Phillips, so there is no way they get to play Rochester.
Sure they have a chance. They lost by a point to Phillips last year. They have the IHSA career leader in rushing yardage. I'm sure they will make it a real interesting game. So what they don't have the D1 talent Phillips does, but they do have alot of kids that can play.

Is Phillips getting fewer flags this year?
Penalties really hurt them in the finals game last year.

We will see, I imagine as long as Phillips gets into 4A they run into each other. FWIW, I do think Phillips will win, I just think it would be closer than expected.
I think Phillips wins by 4+ scores. RL is run, run, run and you simply cannot run on Phillips. Carmel could not and they are a better team than RL. Robinson will be lucky to see 50 yards if they play.

Agreed.

2 reasons Phillips lays it on RL. Skanes and Jones. Too strong, too fast, too good. If they were able to out run and out hit Simeon, RL doesn't have a chance.

Jones plays on Sundays in a few years. If he was 2-3 inches taller he could pick his college. Not saying Iowa is a consolation prize by any means but many more would have been after him.

Run defense really wasn't their ultimate downfall last year, as much as it was their inability to stop a great spread offense.

This is true. However, I did see them play man the and cover 2 man the whole game against Simeon who is a spread team. I do realize that the Simeon QB isn't great and there were some drops, but for the most part the coverage was solid and the front 4 got after the QB nicely. They seem to be much improved from last season

I've watched Robinson play and he is a fine running back. However RL is in a basic Class 3A conference which had some pretty weak teams this year and. Consequently a ton of yardage has been gained with not a great deal of effort.

RL played Dixon this year, won 95-28 (lucky for Dixon they get to play again in the first round) Robinson gained 454 yards on 17 carriers including 7 touchdowns in 2 quarters. Dixon is a 4A school but not known as any type of powerhouse.

I really believe lack of schedule strength will hurt in the end
