Today is the birthday of the late, great Gene McFadden. He was a a singer, songwriter, and producer. He teamed with John Whitehead at Philadelphia International Records to crank out a number of hits. In honor of him, I offer the song that brought him his biggest notoriety.

I thought Fanfare for the Common Man was an Olympic Theme....

I like the ELP version - if not, at least this was at Olympic Stadium.

Favorite German band name is Die Toten Hosen. But, my favorite band to crank in the barracks was SEEED.

The song was written by Buzz Cason and Mac Gayden. It was originally sung by the late, great, Robert Knight. Carl Carlton is one of many singers that have done covers of Robert Knight's song.
