establish itself as the top program in the state. WVU beats moo u in the Marshall Invitational on their home course. granted they finished 13th in the 16 team field. But they played ok. WVU's top player was 10th at 5 under for the 54 hole event.

It's good to see we have a golf team again. It would be unrealistic to expect much out of them the first few years.

Thanks for posting this, doc.

OT question for you. Have you ever played Curahee GC outside of Toccoa, GA on Lake Hartwell? Reputation is a top notch private course. Friend won a foursome and will be planning on going in the next few weeks. Let me know your personal experience. Thanks.

No. But it is on my Candidate's List. It was a top 20 course in GA in 2005. Must be pretty good. It's a Jim Fazio design.

By the way, I'm headed to NJ later this month to evaluate both courses at Baltusrol, Plainfield, and Quaker Ridge. And I'm staying at Baltusrol. Should be a great experience. [cheers]

My son-in-law was an assistant pro at Baltusrol years ago. He has shared many stories about some who played and many in the sports media.

Airport, I seem to recall that you've played a lot of competitive golf. Particularly impressive is your qualifying for a few USGA events, if memory serves correctly. Which events did you play in and where were they played?
I've played in 5 Usga events. Four mids
`1.1999 Old Warson CC, home of Hale Irwin and Bellerieve were the two courses in St Louis
2.2003 Wilmington CC Wilmington DE. North and South course. Made it to the Quarterfinals and lost in 20 holes to go to semis. Pat Cater made it to the quarters that year too. South is a terrific course
3.2004 Sea Island Ocean course and Plantation
4.2008 Milwaukee CC, hardest course to get on in Wisconsin and the other course was Brown Deer
5. US Senior Open at Indianwood CC in Lake Orion Mi
6. 2004 Southern Open, made the cut at The Honors Course. After two rounds I was tied with Web Simpson and had Roberto Castro by 3. Of course I still had to play 36 more and finished around 43.
7. British Mid at Muirfield CC Gullane Scotland.

Nothing like getting out with your friends and playing and needling.

That's pretty impressive. Would love to tee it up sometime although I'd need some strokes.:) I've played the Honors a bunch-played in their Member-Guest there last year or what they call the Lupton Cup. It is one of my top 10 I've ever played. My favorite Dye design. I'm very familiar with Milwaukee CC and actually have access to play there. Although I haven't made it to Wisconsin yet.

My good friend plays in the Lupton Cup at times,Tony Green. I also know David Noll from Dalton who probably plays in it from time to time. I believe that Allen
Barber played in it this year and he's a competitor from down in Newport News. Lupton Cup is an expensive member guest!

Speaking of Dalton, have you ever played The Farm? I can't figure out why it isn't ranked higher. One of the top college tournaments in the country is played there and attracts the Georgia Techs and Alabamas of college golf. The winning team this year was 4 over. Only 5 individuals broke par for the 54 hole event in the 80 player field.. It's difficult but fair. And always in great shape.

Played Kinloch many years ago. It's a real treat but somewhat tricky.
