No. I appreciate that is your opinion and I'd love to see it... but no. Tenn is not overhyped they destroyed us last year and the year before with a younger team and are only getting better. They will be extremely tough if coaching doesnt go south.


As to the linebackers:

I may be one of the few who really, really didnt like JF's run defense. He could cover in space, hell he was a wr.

But no MLB made more tackles 8 yards from the line of scrimmage than ours last year.

If our backers can make plays at the line it will be a huge improvement. Yes our dline needs to be able to force some double teams but lbers need to be able to get stops, not just stop long gains.

I'll take my chances with our secondary.

Still think Tenn isn't overhyped? Appalachian State thinks differently.. I'm very curious to see how Saturday looks for us.

Could be a banner year as far as Stoops' tenure. We have a legitimate shot at beating USC, Miss St, Vandy, Mizzo and UF IMO. Take care of 3 OOC opponents and that puts us at a possible 8-3 entering UL. More than likely we don't go 5-0 against those SEC teams I mentioned, but a 4-1 record puts us at 7-4 with a shot to beat UL if we are clicking.

So we know for sure that Stoops wanted Gran, the guy who had never been an OC, as opposed to Brown who had previous OC experience under Tommy Tubberville? We know for sure that Gran said no and Brown was a plan B (or C)?? What about last year? Why did Gran need to stay an extra year at Cincy and we had to go through the Dawson experiment? Tubberville is still at Cincy and Gran didn't hesitate to leave.

Sounds like we're making excuses for Stoops hiring 2 OCs who didn't set the world on fire with air raid offenses the way UK fans wanted.

You do not know for a fact that Stoops offered Gran before Brown 4 years ago bc that did not happen. At that point Gran hadn't even been an OC and Brown had been very successful. You want Brown 100 times out of 100.

Brown is one of the better offensive minds in the country. It's sad...if our offense doesn't completely light it up people with think Gran is a bum too. Human behavior is so predictable and depressing.

That was not a good showing. I did include - "if coaching doesn't go south"

The guy can recruit, we will see if he can rebound and get his team together, but they looked woefully uninspired and unprepared.
