First thread I ever started. If this is in the wrong place, Ill apologize in advance.

West Davidson? Anyone have any info on the Dragons?

I went there, once, for a girls soccer match. The soccer moms were ruthless, and yelled "break her leg", "kick her in the head", and other such phrases. It was my only experience with those verbalizations at a HS Girl's Soccer match, lol.

Just a quick look at their stats on maxpreps. They seem to depend on QB. He has thrown for just over 1000 yards and rushed for just over 1100, he has accounted for 30 of their 48 offensive TDs and has twice as many rushing yards as the next closest rusher. I would say it comes down to stopping him, and the Wolves move on.

I was hoping someone would do this. Don’t believe WD has any posters on here, but I know some of their opponents do. Go Wolves!

AlwaysAWolf, you did well, really good way to open a new thread…Saw the West Davidson at North Stanley game on NFHS…They looked to be a scrappy team that doesn’t give up. They play basic football using the run and pass. They looked to get tougher as the game goes on. WD trailed a good bit, maybe all of the first half but it didn’t seem to bother them.

They appeared to be pretty physical, too, with some size on the line…My friend, OCDavis, is from Davidson County. He seems to think we would do ok against them. At this stage of the game, things can happen, though. Later this week, I’m going to ask amaidendevil to watch it on NFHS and give us a scouting report. Unlike me, he can see where they might be vulnerable.

By the way, something that I noticed, watching their game. They had a commendable number of fans cheering them on. Hats off to them for that.

Oh, and speaking of things that are noticeable. Friday is supposed to be a cold day. If any of the soccer moms who were carrying-on when you were over there, come here to watch their team play, they’ll get to shake hands with this strange, frigid chill that seems to haunt our stadium…only problem is, it’s not any warmer on the home side. :)

More on the aforementioned soccer match ... we played Monroe in the preceding game, and a number of young ladies from the West Davidson team sat on our side of the field, and cheered for us. I remarked to another Soccer dad, that they seemed like "really sweet little girls"... A few days later, as they followed their mommas' incitement to violence ... my pal looked over at me and stated disgustedly, "thats your 'really sweet little girls".

I believe Lincolnton takes this one. Anyone know the history of West Davidson. Is this one of the best teams they ever had or they just had easy schedule this year.

Football standards in Davidson county are no comparison to Lincoln. They are vulnerable on the outside. Put your receivers one on one with their corners. WD does not have a lot of team speed. Lincolnton's spread attack/ speed is a nightmare of a matchup for them. They are decent against the run though.

Noticed that Davidson County has three teams still playing. Other than West, there is South and Central Davidson…central is 4A and in the eastern bracket. Not sure but South might be a 2A team…Wish my buddy, OC’s Thomasville Bulldogs were still in, that would give them four teams, but they got beat out in the second round. At one time, they were bad news for all of us.

After doing some research, ok I Googled it, Dracary is a word in some language on a TV show called Game of Thrones (heard of it never seen it).
It is a command to breathe fire. Apparently this young actress can tell dragons to do this?
Makes me miss Gilligan’s Island…

Thanks, my friend. Much to my chagrin, don’t think you have to worry about the Bulldogs for a while. Lots of bad news, but mostly self inflicted.

WD has big country lineman and plays hard. Well coached team that is peaking right now and out performing the prognosticators predictions. Will be the underdog, but there are three current Davidson County teams that are traditionally not good in the playoffs showing out. Good luck to the Dragons this week,

AMD, thank you my friend. Guess that means it’s a tv show…I take it that Villarian is a made for TV language, haven't heard of it... Once in awhile, I'll treat myself to an expensive cup of coffee out at one of the Starbucks.

There are a lot of young people that go there, and I've noticed they all have a special type of drink they order, especially young ladies. When I'm in line you can hear them communicating with the barista, and I cannot understand anything they are saying. It sounds like a very fast chatter, but the baristas who are usually very busy, takes their card, or payment from an iPhone and makes their drink.

One day, I asked one of the associates (Barista) how they understood what they're are saying? She said it takes getting used to, and so many of them want different ingredients. It's almost like another language. Hey ! maybe it's Villarian. :)

*By the way, if you have some spare time, this week, could you watch a little of the West Davidson at North Stanly game on NFHS, for us neighborly Lincolnton types. Your scouting reports have developed something of a following on the 3A-4A board.

The poster Kylar24 has given us a synopsis that's pretty informative, but I'd like to hear what you think, too.

My friend, thank you for the information. Afraid that if I watched that I'd have a brain lock and might not be able to move for a few days. Like you, I'd be more in tune with Gilligan's Island, myself. ;)

I agree with West, however you can’t generalize Davidson County schools when there’s 9 high schools compared to 4 in Lincoln County. West is not as athletic as Lincolnton, however, West’s athletes are not typically as athletic as other schools in DC.

Bless you my friend. I know the guys over in Thomasville want their team to do well. I do too, and hope things get straightened out.

Something else that stood out to me when watching WD and NS, you could tell that they really wanted to win.

Yeah, I saw where Simmons picked West to lose by 12 and the Massey ratings picked WD to lose by 22... After Lincolnton's last two games, and at this stage of the playoffs, I couldn't imagine our staff and team looking past anyone. Hope they can bring as many fans with them, here, as they looked to have at North Stanly.

TV show based of a series of novels. I believe 7 seasons with 10 episodes each and runtime of around an hour
