This job is open again. West Iredell currently is a tough gig but It could be a gold mine if they get the right guy to keep kids there n draw kids to stay.

I don’t know who would want this job but It should draw interest in some local coaches.

I don't believe the higher up support the athletic programs very well at West Iredell. If they would do it. They might have a better program.

There many reason why WI has struggled n I have statement many times. I’m sure they may of had a few guy apply but I think they are going in house imo

I have heard a few night but im un sure who they will hire, 2 local guys n 1 guy inside but will see not a lot talk at all here

Interesting hire on the way at West Iredell if all stands true......son of a state championship coach......and both would face each other every year.....

we all know who it is , we just cant say the name but I like hire but Lets see if he can win bc i feel in some people eyes he has to prove himself

I know that he was introduced to the Staff yesterday but still do not know who he is, where he has been and what he offers to bring to West Iredell. Nothing was in the Statesville Record yesterday or today, that I could find.

Got several emails today stating he met with interested students and current players yesterday at the school. Made a couple of calls and verified the name; however, I won't release it until it gets out in a more public manner. South Davidson has a mess on their hands after releasing a coach they just hired. Any way, hes a great young offensive mind, with enthusiastic energy. Best hire in Iredell County in a long time, but it will take time and patience to make the program move in the right direction. From looking at his work at two former high schools, he's got what it takes to run a successful program and get wins. Now, the toughest part is getting the bodies out.

It's public now. Wilson is a great hire. Now, he has a mountain of a job ahead of him. Best of luck to him and his program.

Congratulations to Matt Wilson. I believe Matt will do a good job with West Iredell by getting their program going. My understanding is that Wesr Iredell was really young last season. As stated by NM88 he will have a mountain of a job. But I believe we will see good results with this hire.
