Wonder if this might open the door for Danny Akins to take over as head coach at East Davidson? His wife is already on staff there.

Is Akins gone from SWR? Just noticed that they apparently have a new HC (Seth Baxter) and also that they went 1-10 last year. Yikes. Totally missed that when I was looking over end-of-season standings in December.

Love Coach Akins, and have thought for a long time that the tailspin at AHS started when he left. Had been worried about him at SWR, as that school has little tradition in FB and a very small pool of talent to draw from.

Akins is no longer at SWR.

The tailspin did start at Albemarle when he left, although other causes were already in place as it was not only coaching. Continued drop in enrollment and a lot of people that supported the program getting their children out of AHS. Continual turnover in HC position and probably some questionable scheduling.
