West Rowan @ CREST

West Rowan won 3-A state titles in 2008, 2009 and 2010, so their program knows how to win. I feel confident that Crest can win this week but I realize that a few bad breaks and untimely penalties could give W Rowan a shot at the upset.

I hope Crest continues to click on all three phases Offense, Defense and Special Teams.

I like Crest in this matchup but you never can count West Rowan out.. West Rowan barely got beat by Hickory Ridge and Hickory Ridge has a pretty good ball team.

Just ...Hitman is not capable of making a quality football comment because he knows nothing about the game...all he knows how to do is put down on kids and make smart azz comments....all from a guy who never played a down of football probably. I agree with you. Crest had to take West seriously. If their run defense is suspect so line your RB up in the wildcat and pound away....don't see them stopping it.

It's all goooodd!!! We are no where near what we were in those Glory Years past. But these kids will get on that bus and come and give it everything they got win or lose. Just the way the game goes some years. Anytime you can make it to a playoff game, let alone a 2nd round game, awwwww, not to bad of a season. You always hope it continues, and it will for one of us. Just happy to be here and hope we can play hard and no injuries. Good luck to the Chargers as you are a formidable foe!

When did I put down kids? All I said is your team will get the beating they deserve and they did. I should have rephrased it and directed it towards you and the fan base. It wasn't the kids that acted like a bunch of fools when you beat us. It was clowns like yourself.

To elaborate more from another topic this game is interesting in some ways. Burns came in against WR when they were making their run and to be honest I thought we would beat them pretty good. They had lost at least one and had a few close games. We had a high scoring offense and a pretty good defense. We even beat Crest that year I believe. They came in and just dominated us. This is not the same team but one thing that stood out is how well coached they were. Their defense just dominated us. With this game I can see the West defense putting up a good fight. The problem is that the Offense is not their strong point. The Crest D is too good to allow them to put up a lot of points if any. For West to win their D will have to force huge mistakes. For Crest to win they just have to do what they have done all year.

All you have to do it watch last fridays game again a very very poor 5 - 6 SWR team.. they were horrible on offense and defense , horrrible and still stuffed the middle on defnse and opened holes on the offense side for 5 yrd chuncks.. They started by short kicking the kickoff, them there rb 2 times couldnt hold onto the ball for turnovers, maybe a int if i remember. they shot thereself in the foot and gave crest or any team a lead.. This them would be bottom 8th or 9th in SPC and any team should and would like crest did put up points on them... crest did nothing special other than playing a bad team... watch and listen to the show, even the crest radio guys were saying that the swr team was the smallest team that crest has seen all year and just how they couldnt believe it, it you cant win that game you should be playing.

We're just not that good and haven't played a worthy opponent all year. In all honesty Crest will be lucky to win this game. I've been bluffing all yr. Y'all are a bunch a suckers to think I really thought Crest had a chance to make a deep playoff run. It's been a good yr for the Chargers. I sure hate Crest won't be practicing next week. I think I'm going to book a cruise and leave out Saturday morning. In all due respect WR has a great FB program and will come to the ranch expecting to win.

We're just trying to get some attention because we know that even if by some miracle we do make it to the championship game (which the only way that'll happen is if Concord and SP and Forestview and Pisgah and West Rowan decide that Crest isn't worth the gas) we know it will happen like the last three trips. We'll either lose a close game, or get destroyed and since it's Havelock, we'll probably get destroyed...

It's been fun though!! We got a conference championship! and we won the county championship, not a bad season chargers! Boy do I love being mediocre!!! Good luck to all the other powerhouses in 3A!!!

one question.....can WR score a TD on the first string???.....the starting D hasn't allowed a td all season...Shelby was first team to score offensive points against them(ashbrook had pick 6 in 1st qtr).I am a Shelby fan and graduate who BLEEDS BLACK & GOLD...but even I have to tip my hat to that #realrecognizereal

We struggle to score TD's with our own offense against any defense!

But ya never know, every bird gets a worm now and then.

After watching some tape of your Falcons I have to amend my previous statements. WR D line looks big but slow.Crest should be able to move the ball against them. WR O is run oriented but will throw the ball some. QB can be picked.
Crest should win this one by at least 14 points.

I really hope Barnes starts getting more guys involved at running back, even though Harbison is an impressive RB I wouldn't rely on putting the load on him when you get deeper into the playoffs like what happened during the Shelby game.

Barnes does have a lot of options if he chooses to use them that could potentially makes us better offensively. He has a lot of bullets to shoot that could make us scary good. Tre is a very special RB and one of the best in the state, but there's options with certain personnel that might make Tre and the offensive even better. I mean it's not like our offense is bad...matter of fact it's pretty darn good. Barnes is one of the best in the business at utilizing his talent to get the best results. He's had some talent and good players no doubt, but the way he's used it, especially last yr is the reason we had so much success. You can bet your last nickel.....he'll go down swinging. The good thing is most of the offense will be back next yr with the addition of a few stud muffins coming up from the JV team.

No offense, but you have no clue really. We have some good receivers and when WG is given time he's made some terrific throws. We are a run oriented team. No one here was saying we weren't There are more options in the backfield that have not been shown. Tre has carried the load and has been phenomenal, but I think you'll understand what we're saying here real soon.

And regarding Barnes play calling? Seriously? you guys are questioning the fact that the Crest offense has scored a minimum of 31 points in all but one game.

So it is not a fact that your run game (aside from the D) is the most important part to a state title? no shots were taken at #7. I have no problem w him leaving, n he is getting all this free publicity when has not accomplished much of anything yet. we missed the Ramsuer kid more this season imo. Crest made it to the title game last year with a very bland offense, it was line up n run at you w occasional bounces outside and screen plays. Now with a better D, and a qb that can torch you, the running game should be all that much better.

as for rulz, I do have a clue, I was just trying to get a rise outa a few crest fans and it sure worked. I know crest has some athletic receivers, they are better than average size as well. As far as I know they are home grown too...should be proud of that fact!

IMO Barnes really isnt much of an offensive guru that SOME make him out to be. If you look back and watch, when the O gets to struggling, all he has is the wildcat. Has a good screen play. Other than that pretty simple. When it seems to get tough you can count on that wildcat to come out
