I just think this Friday should be the game that you get a lot more people involved at RB. So they can get accustomed to getting carries if you have to really use them in the future.

Relax Tinker Bells. Mark Barnes has taken above average Crest team to 3 state championship games and this years team is much better than any of those 3. Trust him. He knows what he is doing.

Our boys know they can go down to the "Ranch" and have nothing to lose but the game. But they also know if they can somehow pull off the win.................they will be the talk of the town. Maybe the State!

I hate Crest with every hair on your moms back but they did not recruit. Those kids were talked into leaving by others but recruited by Barnes. No He is not like that.
I don't hate Crest or like Crest....I pull for the Burns Bulldogs. Period. Just because I love football I will follow all games across the state. If Crest wins - ok; or if they lose - ok. With that being said it is my opinion that there was no recruiting by Barnes..He seems to be a pretty honest and upfront kinda guy. The very day after the former coach left a family member of one of the players that left said that so and so would be leaving Burns for Crest. If Barnes recruits then he sure acts fast.
The only individuals that will be pulling for the PonyPups , FriFalcon, is the little area Down Yonder referred to by the rest of North Carolina as " The Poc Mark On A Goat's *** Area. " Ignorance is bliss.

Coach Barnes gave WR a pity score. Up 28-0 with 5 mins to play he put in 11 subs on defense.

Don't worry about our average defense. If it happens ? There will be a whole lotta cramping and crabbing going on.
Been hearing and reading about this Crest team all year. Saw their first real game tonight. Offense didn't seem quite as good as I was thinking they would be but the defense was even better than it has been advertised in my opinion. Very, VERY impressive. I'm not judging the offense off one game because I know they can do better than what they showed tonight.
Very solid game tonight defensively. As we go deeper. We have to clean up the offensive side of the ball. We are who we are. I think we shoot ourselves too much being tricky. We need to line up and pound the ball. Throw enough to keep people honest. Move the football. Can't keep putting the defense in bad situations. Good offensive teams will make us pay. So far though. The offense has stepped up when they had to.
Guys, I did see the B Spikes led D against Dudley in the championship game, I've seen the year yall came up to NE Guilford (I was coaching then) and I've seen on news 14 the year yall played northern for championship please compare this years D so I can have a reference.
To me the difference is that this years defense, has 11 guys totally committed to playing team defense. There is speed and there is power. Spikes made up for a few holes in that defense, it was good but not like this.
We primarily run a 3-4, and play man with the corners and Tampa 2 with the safety's and a linebacker or two. The pass rush is outstanding, and the run defense is unreal. We do use multiple fronts from time to time. I have saw them in the 4-3, and once or twice in a five man front.
I have no other way to explain it other than the speed, and the power is not common.
We have a championship defense. A defense that comes along once in a blue moon. The offense must play better, It simply must.
Wow. In impressed just listening about them. Yea during Spikes year, I really only remember him and the other mlb... But this year it seems like it's going to be a lot of faces the teams yall play see in the nightmares... lol. I'll definitely check out them out in championship hopefully. Love great Defense.
