We played them in the state championship in 2008. So sorry to hear about Chris. He was a baller for sure! They flat out spanked us.

So sorry to hear the news. He definitely is a legend. I saw West Rowan back in the day when he was playing. They definitely were the real deal. RIP.

I remember the great game between Tuscola and West Rowan in the regional finals in 2009. Tyler Brosiuis and Tuscola versus Chris Smith and KP Parks. That was a heck of a game. RIP Chris Smith.

I was there too. 4 hr drive. I wanted to see Brosiuis too. He had committed to State. I had made quite a few friends te year before cause when they beat us in the championship game I filmed their stands. Zoomed in and tried to get everyone in the video. I posted it here so they could see it. When I went back in 09 I told them what I would wear so they would see me and I could get up with them. When I got there West Rowan had warmed up and was starting to go back to the locker room so as I entered through the gate I got off to the side to avoid them. They must read preps cause they knew who I was and came over and shook my hand and thanked me for the video. Even the coaches. I was sorta taken back by it to say the least. So I talked to Chris and shook his hand. I can't imagine the pain his family and extended family must be feeling now.

I listened to it on the radio. West Rowan was the class of 3A for a few years.

I also add that I made it to some of the playoffs games between 08’-10’ years. Those games were packed. WR was a fun team to watch. And the atmosphere was electric. One of the games I was at was when South Point came to play in ‘08 and Tuscola came to play in 09’ and Hibriten came to play in ‘10.

I miss the West Rowan guy's. Friday falcon I think was one of the guys I met there. Really nice him and his brother.
