It's the return of DGS football folks, they need it more than ever too. I personally think the Gold is going to be an absolute dog fight between DGS, Willowbrook, HS and AT. Those 4 teams will slug it out with each other. Everyone is better than they were last year, with the exception of HS. They will down from last year, they have to be, that team was special.
4 teams will get in the playoffs from the Gold. They will have enough playoff points, in my opinion.
Game of the year: Downers Grove South @ Hinsdale South - Battle for the Rebel Cannon est. 1966 - in Week three. Most likely, DGS will be 0-2 and HS will be 1-1. Unlike last year this game will be a street fight. HS has won the last 2 years by a combined score of 49-14 (7-0 & 42-14 respectively). 6A teams don't do that to 8A programs that have the history that DGS has. No way DGS can afford to lose HS three years in a row after winning the trophy 8 years in a row, maybe longer but 8 sounds right. This will set the tone for the Gold.
