I'm no expert but I do know that if you're gonna get GBW you have to get them early. They'll reload this year but it'll take them a few weeks to figure out how to use their new weapons.

I picked OPRF because I think this is their year. I think they take down the big dogs this year.

Just remember that OPRF h-a-t-e-s playing on Duchon Field. Two years ago they had a great team and it was 28-7 when competitive part of the game was over. Four years ago OPRF was coming in hot and the final was 49-0.

I will give you the Brook pick for Week 1 as possibly a good read. I still think GW finds a way to win though.but your spread is spot on.

Looking forward to see how HS looks against MtP.
York might surprise this year, I think they give NT all they can handle
Lyons over Warren is bold and
HC is a toss up vs out of state team that didn't advance to quarters in state last year.

One prediction I will make is that GW could face undefeated Lyons, HC and OPRF in succession again this year. Now we just need GW to be undefeated going into those games. Wait...I fell into the trap.

GW only has to win one game...Brook. There is no week 2 or 3 or...

HS will be a solid 6-3 team this year but not a state contender like the last two years. They'll be able to compete with anyone but teams that are talented like GBW and HC will show their 8A strength. For them it's just get to the playoffs and match up against teams your size.

York will lose a lot of close games...they won't be as bad as their record will show. They went 5-4 but graduated a lot of kids. Their schedule isn't easy at all. They also don't have the talent they once had, bunch of slow 5'8 white kids. I just gave them some great bulletin board material.

I just feel this OPRF's year and not GBW's. But to be the best, you gotta beat the best. I do remember OPRF pooping in the bed the last couple of years against GBW.

Lyons over Warren is bold.

I would say I'm right 90% of the time...just like Sex Panther, 90% of the time I'm right all the time. What movie?

Riverside Brookfield - a couple years ago it looked like Morton was going to turn a corner of sorts

Homewood Flossmoor - sadly my Stangs haven't been the same since Bailey. I can say my little buddy was more bullish on this squad. Maybe some Raider Luck (as if that exists) can rub off on Coach Molinari

Leyden

Glenbard West @ Bolingbrook - I usually don't reveal my pick for The Beloved until Thursday

Lockport - series has been pretty DGN dominated, LP is due a win

New Trier - The buddy has got to get York turned around.

Lincoln Way West

Hinsdale Central - cant lose to a Utah team, just cant

Lyons - this might should be the GOTW, two evenly matched teams with the same colors

Oak Park River-Forest - could be closer than expected

The HC game should be interesting. American Fork was a .500 team last year, but were in the Utah high school playoffs in 2014. They are 1-0 after an opening win last week. I have no idea how they will match up with HC, nor can I find any reason for a high school team from Utah to travel to Hinsdale to play a football game.

Hs has a decent chance to run table in their conference and end up 7-2. South has more talent than you might think with all the talent that graduated last year. A few key trasfers will also help.

Curry from HS could be All-State caliber this year if he builds on last year. He was in the top 2-3 players GW faced last year.

Here is the thing...DGS will be A LOT better, Willowbrook will be better and they ALWAYS give South issues, Leyden is the biggest sleeper of the year IMO, they will be a lot better. It'll be a dog fight between South, DGS, Leyden and Willowbrook. The Gold should have 4 teams make the playoffs this year, it's a better conference every year. I'm interested to see what they look like against Prospect, who I know nothing about.

I try to never look beyond the game at hand, but I am glad we are playing HS after Brook and not before. Tackling that dude makes for some sore bodies the next week.
