With 4 of Edgy's top 30 2017 players committed, WMU has another outstanding class from IL. After several strong recruiting classes and back to back 8-5 seasons when do they get to the top of the MAC? Is this the year? or are they still a little ways off.

I am not going to link it, but if you visit Bill Connelly's stuff on the 128-Team College Football Preview, he addresses the MAC perfectly.

The West is NIU's until someone beats them for the crown. Last year it was also supposed to be WMU or Toledo, but alas the Huskies did it again.

I think the West is gonna be fun. The Rockets are loaded on offense, and the front seven has some players I love. That said the secondary is key in college football, and they are lacking in proven depth. The Huskies on the contrary are loaded in the secondary, as well as WR and QB (depth and presumed health). Those three positional groups are where you need experience, and they have it. NIU needs some youngsters to step up on the DL and OL, but I really like their stock. WMU has perhaps the nation's best WR in Davis, and is loaded with young talent. The offensive backfield has the potential to be the most productive in the nation with Terrell (one of the best passers in the land, nevermind the spread), Jamauri Bogan, and the now healthy and hopefully energized Jarvion Franklin. Do not sleep on the CMU Fightin' Bonomego's though. He's as good a coach as any in the conference, and they have lunch pail kids that will bust you up.

That said, now is the time for a title from the West, as BG is restocking in a huge way and under a new staff. Akron is all defense it seems, nobody else has the depth to contend.

Big MAC (No Whopper) fan here also! I really look forward to those mid-week MAC games!
Best part is the number of local kids on MAC rosters. Buffalo, Akron and Ohio notsomuch, but the West is stocked, and MOH and BG hit the state hard.
