What a mess they have beccome under Zeman... about 55 kids in the program, last few weeks they have only played a varsity game while 30 underclassmen just stand and watch on Friday.. some people in the I-8 not real happy..

I know that this isn't the full reason, but is a possible indicator of things to come, but the Westmont feeder program, which used to have 6 levels, now only has 2 teams, one of which is comprised on 7-9 year olds. Not much help on the way in regards to numbers.

I think the feeder programs are a big contributor to the number of HS players.
Using LWE as an example, prior to the LWN split, they had three organizations feeding in, Wildcats, Falcons & Burros, with 23 tackle teams I believe between them. Plus flag...

From what I have seen, their numbers aren't that far off from the rest of the conference.. they have somewhere between 50-60 in the program, Peotone, Seneca, Reed Custer and Lisle are all in that same range.. and they all have 3 games a week while Westmont had only varsity this week.. not building a program when most of your kids don't play..
