Just finished an L Ron Hubbard book. Just fun easy reading.
Have you read The Dagger and the Coin series? Its by the same author. I really enjoyed it.
The Empty Throne by Bernard Cornwell, it is apart of the Saxon Tales series that the Netflix show The Last Kingdom is based on.

I haven't I still have a couple books in the Expanse series left to finish. I will have to check this one out after I finish those. I have really enjoyed the Expanse so I would love to read more from the author.

Parachute Infantry: An American Paratrooper's Memoir of D-Day and the Fall of the Third Reich
I found it on the Nook top 100 list. I read most of my books on Nook these days, and when I don't have one that I am looking forward to reading, I just browse the Nook top 100 until something catches my eye. I am a big Band of Brothers fan (both book and show), so when I saw this book, I jumped on it. For those of you that have seen BOB, but don't know it by heart, Webster was the soldier who was Harvard educated (volunteered for the Paratroopers before he had completed his degree there). Some of the contents of BOB episodes came from Webster's accounts of the war. He was a gifted writer who wrote for the New Yorker after the war, and authored a book on sharks.
It is really interesting to see some of the events depicted in the show, from a different point of view. Makes you wonder if the BOB version was embellished by Ambrose, or if different soldiers saw certain events very differently than others. I think it was the latter. For example, Captain Winters may have known more about a skirmish, and what was really happening than a GI like Webster, who was just doing what his superiors told him to do, rather than understanding the strategies behind the unit's actions.

Got a freebie for trying Audible so I picked The Killing Floor because of Jack Reacher. My dad has read the entire Gabriel Allon Series and recommended the Daniel Silva books.

Annihilation series by Jeff VanderMeer. Really liked the first. Liked the second. Realized after the third I would have been fine stopping after the first.

Great book about a guy who was a founding member of the PRCA (former cowboy turtle association). Crossed tens of thousands of a cattle across the Mexican border. Made and lost millions.

A Country of Vast Design: James K. Polk
A great read about who I feel is the most underrated president.
Almost finished with Sting-Ray Afternoons by Steve Rushin. It's an hilarious memoir of growing up in the 1970's and 1980's. Highly recommended for anyone here that is a sports fan and/or pop culture geek born from say 1960-1975. I was born in 1964 and the author in 1966 (he has two older brothers and a younger sister and brother that feature in the book).
He is a former long-time columnist for SI and author and is married to Rebecca Lobo. I read it because I had read another of his books (a novel) and loved it and love he and his wife's podcast about marriage and family life.

Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. Really interesting book about the history of Nike.
Reacher gets talked about enough. Really like the series.
I LOVE the Gabriel Allen books. Always hate the wait for a new one.
I just wrapped up the Sean Drummond series by Brian Haig (Alexander's son). Smart *** jag lawyer who was a former specials ops soldier. @CowboyJD
I'm about 6 books into the travis McGee series right now. Really enjoying them.
