The bball program is the laughingstock of the NCAA. How are things going to get better? What do you do to keep the attendance about 5-6k?

Have to get NIL going strong in order to have a shot at improved recruiting. And that goes for any future coach not just for Payne.

Chances are any future coach we get after CKP won't be a HOFer either and will need some big time talent to get back to what UofL basketball is used to being.

Its not just recruiting its the coaching.

8 games in and the players dont have fundamentals, lack ACC basketball IQ. Cant hustle. Cant inbound.
Exhibit off court shenanigans that curtail their playing time.
Payne could have been the 21-22 HC of the Warriors and they wouldn't have made the playoffs.
He simply cant coach.

Unless you’re ponying up most of that $8 million, don’t hold your breath…
Exactly but not only that... then you gotta pay some other massive buy-out for the guy you want that probably isn't really going to come here anyway. And then you gotta give him a raise.

So then your pool of candidates is a lot like it was last Spring.

And as you have mentioned do we really think anyone "up top" in this org is even thinking about this stuff? My guess is, no.

Bridgeman and Houston should pay the buyout for getting us into this mess..

Davidson is in the power 36. Where is Louisville at...........
Probably # 320.

Not sure what Heird can do at this point. Payne was his hire. While things are abysmal, you got to see if he can turn things around. Spoiler alert! He won't. But making a move mid season would perhaps scare other potential coaches off. Let this season play out, as payneful as it might be, then $trongly encourage KP to walk away. I think even Kenny knows he's way in over his head.

I’m not remotely suggesting Heird making a move. Some things I’d like to hear would be more about what was Payne’s vision that Heird liked. Part of that is the real truth about NIL. How are we crushing football recruiting and bball recruiting is subpar? I’d like to hear what he plans to do to retain season ticket holders. Things of that sort…

I'm not sure he does. I believe he thinks the fans are being irrational in their expectations and he should get all the time he wants to right the ship.

I'm with ya though, hopefully as the season goes on and the losses keep adding up he sees the writing on the wall and walks away..
