C’mom. I said “too many to count” and then mentioned a B-League basketball game. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Heck I'm unsure .. I've dabbled in sports all my life . Was starting pitcher at age 11 in the LL all star tourney where we defeated the defending state champ ... scored 32 in a non sanctioned mens hoops tourney as a 15-16 year old -- Was a member of a regional tourney winner in baseball where we had lost 6 straight headed into districts . Special group of guys . Or a member of what is considered the best HS team my HS ever produced in hoops ( I was a bench warmer) all great memories
Hit the game winner in college to beat the stoners team. Had a keg of beer riding on it. It was a good Tuesday.
1. Down 3 in a huge district game with just under 10 seconds left. Our PG brings it up the court and gets a good screen. He misses the open 3, but I grab a tough rebound under the basket. I'm getting ready to lay it in for a quick 2, but the corner of my eye catches the clock at about 4 seconds left. I knew a lay-up wouldn't do us any good, so I dribble out to the 3 point line and shoot a contested turnaround fade away 3 that may as well hit the damn ceiling. Bang!
We went on to win the game in OT where I was 7-8 from the free throw line to seal it. Propelled us to the 1 seed in the district which helped us win the district tourney over a team with a UK recruit.
2. Dominated a huge intramural badminton tourney at UK in like 2000. Got a call late one Friday night wanting to know if I would be willing to participate in it the next morning. I was drunk as hell, but agreed to do it. Great! Be there at 7:30AM the next morning. Walked in hungover as sh*t and there are 100 people (or more) there. Lost the first set of the first match, then started rolling. Made it to the finals where I finally lost to the Badminton's class teacher's assistant. Thought it was pretty unfair that dude was allowed to play, TBH. Then, I had to play doubles with another dude from my frat. Same thing happened...... we rolled to the finals and lost to the teacher's assistant.
3. Had a chance to shoot for a million dollars during halftime of the 1993 state championship game. I was 12. I did not win, but shooting in Rupp in front of a packed house was awesome (Epps and Marion County won it that year).

-Striking out 17 in a 7 inning game in HS. I had a perfect game until I hit someone in the 6th...the ump let me know I lost it right after it happened.
-Playing in an adult men's league I also had the opportunity to do "the airplane" after hitting a HR, I promptly got beamed my next time up.

Kind of funny, my best was also in the most embarrassed thread also. The same game I missed 3 wide open layups on the same trip down the court, I scored 36 points in the game.
Also, in JR. Pro basketball Travis Ford and I played against each other. His team beat mine 24-22, he scored 22 of his teams 24, I scored 20 of my teams 22.

2 game winning catches in a single season of HS Football. One a 30 yard seam route the other a 25 yard corner route.
I had a seven-point play in basketball. Scored on an inbounds pass breakaway layup where I got pushed in the back, ref called a foul/and one, their coach loses his mind and gets two technicals. I make all five free throws.
Second one is the craziest. Down two with under a minute left, I hit a three. We foul them, they make both free throws. I come down and hit another three with 12-15 seconds left. We are up two now. They call timeout. In the huddle, I said, “Whatever you do, don’t give up a three. Give them the layup and we will get them in OT.” What happens? A defender lets them hit a three with like five seconds left.
We call timeout to stop the clock but we don’t have any timeouts. Technical. But they miss both technical free throws. On the inbounds pass, I foul that same guy to stop the clock. It’s a bonus. Remarkably, he misses again, I grab the rebound and get two steps past half court to shoot a three and get clobbered. Foul with no time on the clock.

Picking up a cheerleader from an opposing basketball team in 1970. Met here during warmups when I was chasing an errant shot that went straight to her while she was on the sidelines. Ended up going out with her for a couple of months. Split up because my Dad found out about it and her was dating her Mom. Bad coincidence.
In 2001 my mom called to wake me up for school. She said go to the store and get the Lexington Herald. I asked why and she wouldn't tell me. I could not think of any reason I needed to see it. But I go get it and there it is: Lexington Herald All State football team 2001. And there I was as a defensive back. I actually cried because I never ever thought I would make it. I had already been named All County, All City, All District, All Region, and Defensive Back of the Year all prior to this and I still couldn't believe it.
A couple days later I was also on the Courier Journal All State team. What's crazy is I never really took football seriously. I forged lifting workout forms, I smoked cigarettes and weed like crazy before games, and got out of practice whenever I could. The only thing I took seriously was film, and the games. I was nearly kicked off the team at least a dozen times. But I knew they wouldn't kick the best defensive player.
I got offered a scholarship to Appalachian State. A coach was watching game film of a player on my team. I guess I stood out. It just so happens that game he was watching was one of my top 3 games. I had 3 picks. He offered me a scholarship on the spot. Unfortunately I suffered a major concussion during the 2000 season. After your first it makes it way more likely to get another. Well I got another one later that same year and it ended my season. I was barely cleared to play my senior year and if I got one more my career would've been over. I never told anyone I suffered 4 more that year at minimum. I got one on senior night that was so bad I couldn't see. Somehow I got defensive player of the week for an interception, forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two tfl. After the season I told my doctor and got brain scans and such. He said it was very possible that if I went on to play more that the right hit could kill me. So I told that coach I couldn't accept. The irony is I joined the military and suffered multiple concussions from ied's and one TBI. Sorry for the long post but I swear on my life all of this is 100% truth.

Winning pitcher of deciding game of Little League and a Babe Ruth league championships. Was an average pitcher at best. Scored 4 TD’s in a JFL game. Broke 80 one time (on an easy course). Pretty non-descript athlete.
back in September I went bowling with my friend and his 3 kids. I entered the final frame down 29 to his 7 year old. I had a pretty bad game going. But I bowled 2 straight strikes and a 9 to tie her. That was pretty awesome.
