What a difference a couple weeks make, huh?

On Feb. 10, NU had just gotten hammered by Sparty for its third straight blowout loss and 10th straight loss overall. We were wondering when and IF another win would ever come.

Now, they are riding a three-game winning streak after just DRILLING Penn State today.

The reasons for the turnaround? The 2-3 zone, the freshmen maturing, and -- maybe most importantly -- just playing with the confidence that comes with winning.

Both Law and Demps shooting more efficiently is big, as is the return of Tap from the injury list and Sobo chipping in quietly, not to mention Skelly doing the little things.

And of course, switching to the 2-3 zone (really saves Olah from foul trouble and let's him defend the basket); one can't help wonder what might have been if CC had made that switch sooner (along that note, if Cobb had been healthier and Tap hadn't missed those games, this might have been an NIT team).
