Watching and hoping for the Pack last nite it became a lost cause, as Cat Barber cannot do it by himself...Watching Roy Williams commit his dirty tricks was one of the lowest acts amongst the coaching fraternity I have ever seen...

I am glad to know I obviously was not the only one who noticed, and quite frankly knew ol Roy was coaching his last time in Raleigh...Taking two timeouts in final minutes with the game in hand??? Where's your allegiance to " The Great Dean Smith??" Oh yeah, thats rite, paper classes started under him too...

Mark Gottfried I know that garbage was hard to take.. Thank God for Coach K's class and professionalism!! We are so fortunate!

I don't mind stuff like that. Sure it would piss me off, but that would be about it. I'm not going to assassinate Roy's character because of something like that. I have some other, more obvious reasons for doing that.

We can agree to disagree...I think if you put yourself in Gottfried's shoes you would"ve probably understood...Btw, Doug Gottlieb's viewpoint gets more credence with a lowball tactic like Williams pulled...Roy wont have the same team next year and I am sure Gottfried will not forget...

Much ado about nothing, IMO. There's plenty of stuff to rip on Roy about....but this is a little ridiculous.

You wont catch me defending Roy's tactics....I just know K wouldnt do it, and really you think most coaches D1 are above such a jr high mindset as Roy. However it goes with his style...

i don't see a problem...you play to win imo....did he sub the walk ons in?...either way, oh well...some may view it otherwise

Denniden I really appreciate you saying that my friend....I do not post here often because I do not overly get moved by things. However that set me off and I just put myself in Mark Gottfried's shoes of being on the receiving end...As I read Hardin's account I could understand his irritation...Again thx for your very classy and tactful understanding of the way some things rub us differently!! Yeah and at both points of timeouts no scrubs were entered in game....That was my thinking- the walk-ons were going to get some PT...not a chance....Oh well, this guy's banners are coming down...no worries...

UNC fans are ridiculously sensitive of anything K says or does. Just because they do it doesn't mean we should too.

I respect your opinion but likewise subscibe to Denniden's theory reference everyone has a right to share their views. I pay my monthly dues because I like to keep up with my team and occasionally share my insights.

Likewise I didnt just shoot this straight from the hip, but rather posted a link to further my case. I don't post very often because its something that usually effects me enough to state my thoughts. Thats fairly seldom...Please do not put me in the camp of those folks 10 miles away per my thought process. I would appreciate it...

There's just bad blood between the Heels and Pack (and this scandal thingy ain't helping)! So, knowing Roy, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he didn't mean to rub it in a little. Hey, he has to take his frustrations out on someone, 'cause K and Duke aren't cooperating.
They love calling NC State MOO U, but that's okay, because UNC is our own personal MOO U.

I would prefer to be called Moo U rather than UNCheats. At least a cow gives you steaks and milk and I'm not sure what UNCheats gives you except cheaters and dishonesty.

I would too, Gottogo. I like and respect NC State University. Have friends and family who are fans. I never use the 'MOO U' term unless I use it in reference to making fun of UNC.

Roy's got a body of work. In and of itself maybe he gets a pass for the time-outs last night but when ya got a history like Roy's? Another thing...Roy takes more crap from rivals AND his own fans for NOT calling time-outs. Up big against a hated rival ( possibly moreso these days given State's involvement in exposing unx! ) and what does he do? Calls a couple of 'em in the waning moments. He was definitely sending a message. Screw 'im.

Like I said , taken as an isolated incident maybe it would be more insignificant. But here's a guy who , for whatever reason , hates State worse than he does Duke and he has a record of holding onto time-outs as if he could roll 'em over into the next game. Obviously , I dislike Roy but not so much that I critique 'im for every little thing he does. Those 2 time-outs weren't the end of the world but he was bein' a jack-azz. He just was.
