I'm assuming you're talking about passing on 1st down inside the 20 under 2 minutes. If someone on the sidelines called that play they should be fired. If it was the QB going on his own he should be benched for good. Just unbelievably horrible decision making.

I’d have a hard time believing that the boneheaded play call on 1st Down didnt come straight from Petrino.

Pass would have had to have called the wrong play at the line and if it was supposed to be a run, Petrino would have seen the formation and quickly called time out IMO.

After we made the first down the clock restarted with 2:01 to play. I understand that BP didn’t want to call time out and wanted to keep the clock running but even considering passing in that situation boggle the mind.

You’ve got to run the ball on 1st and 2nd down and make FSU blow their last 2 time outs. Then if you want to throw on third down fine.

Just run Tre Smith 3 Times. He might even bust one but the worst case scenario is kicking a short FG with the most accurate kicker in the country and force FSU to go the length of the field with no time outs.
