Thanks Obama! But in all seriousness, and not that anyone gives two ***** what I think, I've had enough of this inept offense run by someone who's supposed to be an offensive guru. Two games in a row, we look like **** in the first half. And then Dana throws the defense under the bus for letting OSU score in overtime.Sucks having such a great tailgate ruined by such a ****** game.
I guess I spoke too soon after the Maryland game. Sorry about that.

Apparently the players weren't ready to play and the coach didn't have a good game plan. With what we have left on the schedule, I don't see us winning more than two more games.
If you're making mistakes the other guy isn't in those areas, you are being outplayed, and some of it has to come back to coaching. And don't get me started on why we have two or three tight ends on the roster and don't use them for anything but blocking. How many times did OSU hit their TE running open down the middle on Saturday, and we don't have one play in the book like that?what's so damn frustrating is we're not losing games because we're being out played, we're losing because of stupid ****. Turnovers, penalties and special teams.

Hell, I have wondered about it since I see it work nearly every time I see it used. No matter who the team is.That's something I've wondered since Anthony Becht graduated.
Shane Lyons will have Dana on a very hot seat. I'm not a Dana supporter or a basher. I support my team and rarely will I say much negative about the coach. But I made the prediction today that both Dana and Mark Richt lost a very significant game on Saturday and I could see this being the last year for both. WVU won't fire Dana but they can encourage him to look elsewhere for another job at year end.
I knew him personally since Jr. High. A year younger than me but we all ran in the same circles growing up. But knowing him back then doesn't mean much now and who he is as an AD. But my take on him is someone that comes from a very successful football program that knows how to do it right and from a coach that does one thing well. Plays a game that is smart and doesn't accept things like careless turnovers well. Lyons will expect the same from the WVU coach as he is bringing the same high standard. Dana is not his hire and he won't have much patience with a program that isn't performing at that standard and he will let it known with the coaches. But he will be professional about it and you won't see any loose comments in the press over it. That is a good thing.Whats your take on Lyons? I don't know what to think about him. He seem to be keeping a low profile since he has been here. The most I have seen him excited was when I heard him talking about the big surprise he had in store for the MD game. It turned out to be Brad Paisley whom I couldn't give two ***** about.

Dana is coaching around Skylar IMO.I usually post WVU sports related stuff only on the BL. I agree with your post. I just posted on the BL about the middle of the field being wide open game after game and NEVER taking advantage of it. I think a lot of us who have been Dana supporters are beginning to wonder what the hells going on.
How so? Why? He has had success at other programs as O-coord. Why can he not do it here in his own program? Very disappointed that he cannot perform his magic here as Luck anticipated when he hired him. Is his natural position at another program as O-coord? Lyons has got to start making preparations to get the football program improved like the other sports have.Dana is coaching around Skylar IMO.
Our offense has been pretty prolific under him. As bad as it has seemed this year we are 18th in the nation in total offense. How so? Why? He has had success at other programs as O-coord. I think Dana is minimizing Skylars throws to the middle of the field because for whatever reason his biggest weakness is throws over the middle.

Agree with you that Dana is coaching around Skyler's weaknesses. That's why were are trying to run the ball a lot more. Dana is concerned with INTs. He can't throw over the middle because he is only 5'-11" tall, he can't see over the line. Skyler is a competitor, fighter, has a lot of guts, is gamey, has a lot of heart, but just doesn't quite have the ability to be a good D1 QB. I've been patient with Dana, realizing in all fairness you have to give a coach a minimum of 4 years to get some of their own recruits in, Dana has lost assistants to Arizona and Oklahoma, etc. I'm out of patience. He hasn't had a good QB here in 5 years. That's a terrible failure. The play calling in the third qtr was good, the short little quick passes in the flats were open and we moved the ball right down the field. Then we didn't use those type of passes the rest of the night. Agree with the comment about not using tight ends. Baffling.
Doug Flutie could throw it over the middle. There are ways of overcoming the issue of seeing over the linemen. The fact is, the defense can ignore over the top passes and ignore covering the TE. Dana knows a helluva lot more than me but it seems it's become pretty easy to defend his offense when he limits the playbook.1) Howard's long passes are often floated and under thrown, where adjustments must be made for the completion, so even that accuracy is average at best.
2) If he's having trouble seeing the lanes in the pocket due to his height, get him out of the pocket more.
I like how we are running the ball. We are actually VERY effective on the ground IMO, just can't seem to be effective in the passing game unless it's a high efficiency pass.

I would like to see Sky take a 5-7 step drop and throw it as deep as he can. Can our receivers run it down? Last week he had one of the rainbows out in front of the receiver, and he ran it down and TD. That is the only pass that I have seen him throw that the receiver didn't have to stop and jump ball. It worked well last year with White, who was big and strong and could go up and muscle out the defender. These receivers are not that physical, yet. Have to lead them and let them go get it.1) Howard's long passes are often floated and under thrown, where adjustments must be made for the completion, so even that accuracy is average at best.
