Granted there is a meet before that one, but Purdon't doesn't really merit oddsmaking.

Might as well get a head start on the Stillwater oddsmaking!

Thanks in advance to the forum Gurus.

Sadly this will be more of a measuring stick for OSU than Iowa. If Iowa wins 5 bouts (which they can), it will be really ugly for the PSU competition come nationals. A poor showing by the #3 team and what happened last night to tOSU will have all the betting sites reevaluating the lines. I hope they pound the crap out of OSU. Taylor leaving PA left a horrible taste in my mouth (even though I love him as a wrestler, statesman and what he's done for USA wrestling).

Not out of the realm of possibility for all of PSU roster in finals of BT but likely they have 7 or 8 for sure. Nattys alot more work to get there but Im guessing a blood bath with over half the team in the finals. Okie St should do well and maybe 2nd, even if they drop matches to Iowa (and seeds) next week, but there not even in the same neighborhood with PSU this year.

I don't blame Taylor one bit. He's not even from PA originally. Was offered a huge check to be HC at a premier program. Who would say no to that?

Nope, I don't blame him one bit either. Being selfish I wanted him to coach after Sanderson but in reality that was never going to happen. Cael has 20 more years if his heart stays in it. At his current trajectory he'll own pretty much every collegiate coaching record.

You’ll never catch true Iowa wrestling fans hoping to lose. That’s crazy.
I've been following this program for 2 decades and find the current state near unbearable to watch. Our dual record this season is already trash. One more win or loss won't change the type of season this is but another loss might just put more pressure on the powers that be to enact change.

Team performance aside, I do wish the best for our guys' individual performances at nationals and hope our studs finish as high as possible on the podium.

125 sprately Dec- I know Peterson won earlier but he’s looks off and just struggled with #28 or whatever. 3-0
133 jaxx Dec-I won’t pick 2026 Drake against any top 10 guy. Hate me all you want just something is off. 6-0
141 Vega Dec-Bailey is not him. He got the bag and checked out. 9-0
149 block Dec-I’ve always thought Casey was overhyped his whole career. 9-3
157 Robideau Dec-Williams won’t score on him. Probably sv or ride outs. 12-3
165 cali Dec-he’s probably top 10 p4p just has Mesinbrink at his weight 12-6
174 who knows it’s gonna be 4-1/4-2 boring match. I’ll lean facundo after Michigan match. 15-6
184 Ryder dec- Gabe loses a close match 18-6
197 Merrill mdec-believe Harvey is done. Sampson belongs at upper Iowa 22-6
285 douche Dec Telford and brands ruined Ben 25-6

Best case scenario PSU has 9 finalists.

You've only been watching for 2 decades? Then you have no clue about how it was. No offense intended, and you're not wrong BTW.

125- OSU close Dec. 0-3 (Dean won last time)
133 OSU close Dec 0-6
141-OSU MD 0-10
149 OSU Dec 0-13( Block beat him last time)
157 OSU MD 0-17
165 Iowa Dec 3-17 (very tough match)
174 Iowa Dec 6-17
184 Iowa MD 10-17 (Ryder hurt)
197 OSU Dec 10-20
285 Iowa Dec 13-20 (even match)

Iowa could win this dual if Dean and Block can repeat what they did last time. I wouldn't bet that way as DT and company will out coach this staff easily on adjustments. 165 will mostly depend on MC picking his spots a little better and avoid the re shots Dee can score on.

Why would Taylor leaving to start another chapter of his life leave you with a bad taste in your mouth? Strange. I don’t have any disdain for Kemerer, Big Cass, St John or even Metcalf for that matter. I’m happy for them pursuing their goals. But to stay on topic, OKST will shake out much different this time around I’m afraid

Dresser and Gilman would be two former Hawkeyes that may get a different feeling from much of the fan base (maybe not you). There are plenty of former PSU guys on other coaching staffs now that don't get the negative vibes from the fans. DT left to bring the biggest challenge PSU will face in keeping the dynasty afloat. There are all kinds of stories about him talking to current team members that he previously coached and while that may not be true it still has had a negative impact on how many PSU fans feel about DT. I'm glad he is there and I think it is good for college wrestling. I want Nolf to run a program and bring yet another threat. I think in a few years Mesenbrink will emerge as a great coaching prospect too. Nick Lee is going to make a very good coach. There will be plenty of chances to spread the hate around in the coming years. I won't be joining this mix. I want Nolf at Iowa.

It wasn't about him doing it, it was all the innuendo surrounding it. Him possibly talking to his M2 wrestlers to get them to jump ship, raiding NLWC, etc. I'm happy for him. I want the branches from the Sanderson tree to do well. You see it with Nick Lee learning there. If it makes USA wrestling stronger, I'm all for it. I believe Iowa's struggles lie with the RTC. Elite kids have huge ambitions and most want Sr level success. The Zagreb open was great for you guys. Kids see the hardware/medals and start formulating ideas and options. More success brings more kids, it becomes self sustaining.

Doesn’t every coach do exactly what you described Taylor of doing by trying to poach wrestlers when they leave? Cael did it when he left ISU, Tom did it when he left V tech. Do you hate Matt Campbell for destroying the ISU football program?
I can't speak to all coaches but yes Cael and Matt Campbell aren't running for mayor in Ames with any chance of success these days. Most coaches don't have that opportunity in college wrestling as much because there are not as many head coaches jumping around as football offers. If Casey left PSU after this year and took Mesenbrink and Blaze with him he wouldn't be too popular at PSU either. If M* left and took Angelo and Leo to anywhere he wouldn't be loved by Hawkeye fans. It is simply how fandom works.

It just felt like sabotage. I know my feelings don't matter and all that, but I don't have fully like it either... Would be interesting to hear from a VT person. It took forever for that program to recover...not sure if they have fully.

I remember when m* gutted out an all American tourney on one leg his senior year. I have nothing but respect for former hawks and how can anyone fault them for providing for their family with a job at an opposing school?

Yeah I know you are on the Ferrari is leaving never wrestling again train. Have you thought about changing your name to Iron Dick?
Hey, I acknowledged he is wrestling, based on what Ironside said.
An actual insider's statement counts.

Yea I was still a lil tot back in the Gable era but I've watched the available footage and am well acquainted with the stories of dominance from those days. Growing up on that stuff is why the Hawks will always be my team.

The state of this program is a joke compared to the golden days. Outside of Caliendo, where is our offense? Why is Drake using the same 2 moves he's had since high school? Where is the development? Where's that 3rd period dominance?

Sometimes, things have to get worse before they get better. I'd rather us lose every remaining dual this season if it means things will change next season.

I’m picking Iowa to win 3…Mikey, PK, and AF or Gabe.if he goes. Sucks that we have so little confidence in our starters…

I don’t think Peterson should wrestle. He doesn’t have anything to gain. We probably aren’t winning this dual with or without him. Don’t be surprised if we bring Cruz and Peterson.
