Tonight seems celebratory so let's make it special.

My wife's cousin called me the other day to see if I wanted a bottle of Van Winkle 10. Seems he entered two separate raffles for a bottle and won them both. Rather than flip one to someone who will flip it for a profit he called the one guy he knew who would drink it. Picking it up this afternoon in time for #77.

I'm drinking a specialty. Served in State College Pa now since 2011. It's called "Hawkeye Tears". Absolutely delicious. Can be served chilled, or at room temperature. Delicious either way. You can only get it though if you are a Penn State wrestling fan. The drink is not available in Oklahoma, Ohio, or Nebraska however lol 😂

I can’t even start thinking about this until at least noon. I suspect Guinness will be involved at some point, or perhaps a bitbof yellow spot. Feeling a little Irish. Started the day with a great morning dog walk/hike with Mrs a. at brushy hills preserve.

what a huge sports day - cfb playoff games, a full slate of great nhl games, two solid nfl games, and two wrestling matches. I sorta feel like I should be in the slipperypete production truck.

edit: Oooooh I just remembered I had this stuff.

Hawkeye Tears now available in Ames too. Possibly coming to Blacksburg soon -- I hear there was a recent trial batch.

Also available in State College: Buckeye Tears and Skunk Bear Tears.

Actually, the question isn't "what are we drinking" but "are we drinking".

From what I hear from those with direct personal knowledge.

December liquor sales plummeting.

Enjoyed the Journeyman over in Nashville last December, but, this year I’m fully committed to a Saturday evenin with fresh pork rinds and Cherry Bounce (a western NC classic).
